Barb Not a Good Hostess

As others wrote, she made you call 1 hour before you arrived. When we did arrive and get out of our car she yelled at us from a house across the street to go inside and sign a card and she would be over in a minute. This was a girl's trip. My gf initially made reservations and Barb took her credit card info, we were only going to stay one night then when we decided for 2 and she called Barb back, Barb asked her if she had mailed a check and my gf was like no, you never asked. So she mailed the check in plenty of time to get there, Once we arrive my gf asked if she got the check she said no, but then later said she did receive it. We told her we had read that the bathroom is a shared one and she flat out said no its not but flat out it is! So What the? She asked us if we would bring the towels down for her. First breakfast was a French bread, but it was more like French brick. You had to saw it to cut it and did not taste good at all. Second breakfast I am pretty sure was powder eggs in a casserole dish with some light cheese on top. The presentations of the breakfast were good but the taste not so good. We also had requested the queen and one twin bed room but when we got there she said it was not available. So will not be going back. I thought the house was cute with lots of character, but the real character was Barb. LOL

This was an anniversary trip. I've visited Eureka Springs many times in the past but always for day trips with no overnight stays. I knew that I wanted something within walking distance of downtown and the Singleton House fulfilled that priority. There's a walking trail near the house which leads down the hill near Pine and Spring streets which was a great starting point for exploring the downtown area.
The house itself was quite charming. I selected the Starlight Jacuzzi room which was quite spacious. The bed was comfortable and the room has it's own balcony just a few steps from the Jacuzzi. The breakfast provided was quite good both mornings. Eggs, fresh fruit, tasty chocolate chip muffins, and a favorite was the Strawberry-Banana French Toast. There were drinks (tea and lemonade) available in the refrigerator at all times as well as snacks available (an orange pound cake was very good).
If you have questions about the town, whether historical or needing current recommendations, Barb was quite pleasant and welcoming. When we choose another stay in Eureka Springs, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Singleton House again.

My husband and I visited this B&B and were very satisfied, the location is perfect just a block down you are in the center of this Victorian Town, the bedroom was clean and comfortable we used the Jacuzzi and the view from the balcony was lovely. We loved the delicious and filling breakfast overlooking the garden. Barbara told us coffee or tea would be available any time she also explained the history of Eureka Springs and some colorful stories about the locals. We enjoyed our time there and will return.

We visited Barb at 11 Singleton House again this weekend. This time our teen children were with us and loved the house and her. We have had nothing but pleasant experiences. If you are planning to stay at a B&B in Eureka, there are things that will not be in your comfort zone, (beds not like at home, oddly shaped rooms, etc.) That is one of the main reasons we like it here, because of the whimsy, and the change from our everyday lives. Living in a century old home is definitely going to be different, but that is what makes it great!! Barb again welcomed us warmly, and kept us laughing with her straight-forward & honest personality. We will be back.

We booked this B&B because we wanted 2 beds and its hard because usually there is only 1 bed. I thought coming into Eureka Springs this would be a quaint experience because the town was so cute. Well the cuteness stopped when we got to Singleton House. Barb showed us our room and it smelled old like the house was. She explained to my friend how to start the oil burner stove and where the matches were! The beds were uncomfortable, the TV I swear was the first color one that came out, the furniture was old, cheap, and when we were trying to find a outlet in the wall to plug in our cell phones , we pulled the cupboard away and it was filthy dirty! We decided we were not going to take a shower/bath in the claw foot tub reason being it would be difficult to get into - so a sponge bath it had to be. We elected to not try to burn the place down by lighting the oil burner (altho it would have been in the owners best interest if we did as she was trying to sell this dump) Good luck there! She was not a warm and fuzzy person, not someone I cared to be around for any length of time. We did not sleep all night because we were so disappointed with this place we left at 5 AM and didn't stay for breakfast. That would have been another bad experience we feared. And the worse was I paid $175 for this place, no sleep, not comfortable, and learned a very expensive lesson!
