Fantastic building, amazing rooms, extremely convenient location, and Michel was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. I cannot recommend this place enough. And my words can do it no justice!

If you get a reservation here, you will be generously rewarded. We could not have been more pleased. The rooms, the food, the bathroom (extra wow), but more importantly Cinzia and Michele are just lovely. They really make you feel like part of the family. Their recommendations for dinner each night were perfection. Staying away from the busier section of the city was exactly what we wanted to enjoy the feeling of living there. Visiting the nearby park each evening was a great change of pace each day after running between all of the "must do's". Please do yourself a favor and choose to stay here. It will give your stay in Florence an extra special twist.

We stayed at 1865 for one week in late April 2017. We chose it because of a combination of its location, price and positive reviews. That being said, 1865 exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal, in a quiet residential neighborhood but within walking distance of all of tourist Firenze, surrounded by winding streets, family restaurants, historical sites and local shops that constantly remind you that you are in a special city. 1865 is located on the top floor of an historical property and it has been lovingly restored and carefully maintained. Our comfortable and generously sized room (with frescoed ceiling!) was sumptuously furnished with a modern en suite overlooking a quiet garden. A generous breakfast was served daily in a beautifully furnished frescoed dining room, providing us with the opportunity to meet a range of interesting international guests. For us what is most special about 1865 however is its hosts Cinzia and Michel (and their son Mattia) who were welcoming, generous and made our visit to Firenze even more memorable. We will certainly recommend 1865 to our friends and hope to return in the future.

Im writing this review a bit late sorry but my husband and myself stayed here last year. It is the most beautiful of hotels only having a small number of rooms but all decorated differently. We had the most beautiful ceiling fresco I have ever seen.
The breakfast served was stunning.. definitely recommend the eggs!
The hotel is situated in a quiet street but within 10mins walk to centre so prefect position. There is a restaurant just round the corner called La Giostra. Absolutely beautiful food and the service was first class.

I wouldn't hesitate staying here again and look forward to coming back when we visit Florence again.

When I was planning my trip to Florence, I really wanted it to be a trip where we got to know the people who live there and the places they go to. I didn't want to be a typical tourist. When I found 1865 Residenza d'epoca, I was thrilled. The website pictured a beautiful and well maintained place to stay and I was excited. I have to say that Michel, and his family truly exceeded our expectations. They were warm and welcoming with wonderful suggestions for dining, shopping and exploring. The home is impeccably clean with luxurious bedding which made our stay extremely comfortable. I will never stay anywhere else when I come to Florence and would highly recommend this to all!!
