No room in the Inn!
Holly Son 06/05/2017 14:28Where do I start with this 'bad review'.... before booking 207 Inn I read reviews that if arriving any later than 20:30 you need to inform the hotel and you will be given a number to call the concierge who will then let you in.
A week before the trip I emailed 207 Inn to inform them we would be arriving late (a week before thought it would be fresh in their mind... NO) so was given a number to call once we arrive at 1am. Arrived promptly at 1am as no delays.
Me and my friend both females and 25 years old, on the streets of Rome trying to contact the number we were given for a good hour with locals passing by to help with no luck! Seems it was just a voicemail and the phone had not been transferred to the concierge, great!
We had only one choice but to walk around the streets of Rome to find another hotel! On finding another hotel after being turned down by many we had to pay for basically half a night as didn't get settled in a room till 3:30am
The next sunny morning we headed over to 207 Inn to be greeted by a Thai/Italian gentleman (I use that phrase loosely) who did not care about our situation, what a lovely start. We were told on check out we would get our refund for the night we didn't get and be able to speak with the manager. We were also informed by another receptionist, female/Italian that we would get out money on check out, yet did we know this was a big fat lie!
So hello check out... we were messed around laughed at by the female receptionist and told it's not their problem they're just a receptionist, blimey if only I could say that (yes I am a receptionist). Both receptionists insisted we were not told we would get our money on check out (love when someone lies to your face) after half an hour of arguing we were just told to email lastminute.com for our refund so we look forward to a refund in roughly 4 months when it should have been sorted that day!
Whoever the 'ghost' manager is as we never met them, good luck with 207 Inn and with receptionists like that, shambles!
Close to Vatican
carolmajaon 04/04/2017 09:15The room was very small but we knew this in advance and it suited our needs. The Little balcony was super
Breakfast is served on a tray in the room and its a bit of a lottery. One day the toast and butter were missing, another the criossants, then the bread.
The toilet was downright dangerous with the seat sitting loosely and falling off at the slightest movement and the shower sent water in all directions.
The air conditioning unit was perfect. Easy to adjust and quiet.
In the area round about there are a multitude of small restaurants and bars.
Clean and central, very small breakfast
on 14/03/2017 14:25The room had a good size and the bed was very comfortable. It was great that we were able to open the window up wide to let fresh air in in the night, even though there were a lot of noise from the street - one morning we were woken at 4 in the morning because the street vendors in the street were arguing very loudly and honking their car horn - but this is of course not the inns fault, but more due to its central location.
We were able to walk to both the Vatican state and tourist/historical sites such as pantheon, trevi fountain, the Spanish stairs and also it was very close to shops to buy not too expensive clothing at. Also close to great restaurants.
The breakfast was way to small - you could order one item from a list of croissants with one selection of white bread with some sausage and cheese, and a cup of coffee/juice on the side. All days we ended up going out to get more breakfast - maybe it would be better if you could choose both bread AND a croissant, I don't know, but it was not enough for either of us.
recommend for young people or those on a tight budget
pdmbrusselson 02/12/2016 19:07we stayed in this converted apartment to b&b. for 4 nights. had our reservation not been part of a plan, we would have checked out the next day. good points: charming and helpful receptionist (on duty 13-20) and helpful house person who delivers breakfast and cleans the rooms. proximity to the vatican. price. negative points: high noise level; no cover on the duvet; no public places which is why a quite good breakfast is delivered to your room; rooms very small and furniture very minimal and basic. dodgy neighbourhood although taxis are easily available. if you just need a place to sleep this is good value but it is not a place where one relaxes.
