What People are saying

ok once we got in

daisydell32on 10/08/2016 19:10

This holiday was booked due to another firm going down .Two days before travelling we sent time details of our flight and phone numbers .On arrival we made our way to 55 inn for 2 o'clock .We waited nobody came ,rang the intercom still no answer .Then we decided after waiting almost an hour we would make our way over to their b&b which they told us about in an email that cost us 7 euros in a taxi then when we got to there same story no answer .then we decided to phone booking .com who must have phone the owner because out of nowhere he appeared. He had our phone numbers so why didn't he phone. Then he took us through the metro to get to where we were meant to stay.Once we got in after opening three doors we eventually get into our room .The room is ok tea/coffee facilities ,nice big fridge with ice tray, good hot shower,Could not fault the room and the cleaner was excellent .
Nice and near the railway station for day trips away ,metro station 2 mins away and tram stop at the door.Easy to find just follow the tram lines round from the station.

Disaster

My fiancé and I were dropped off at this hotel and I have to admit when we seen the neighbourhood we were staying in we were shocked!! We arrived at a big wooden door and tried to ring for our hotel there was no answer despite it advising check in was at 2pm and we arrived at 5 to 2? 1hour later after sitting on steps outside the hotel manager arrived , I use the word "hotel" loosely as it could not be described as this. There was not so much as a sorry for this late arrival. We had booked through booking.com but they did not have our booking we were then showed to a tiny room , not the one we had paid for on booking.com, there was stains on the bed covers and the bathroom shower was awful, to make matters worse we were then advised we would have to pay more than what was agreed on booking.com for a room we never picked.

We then decided to make the most of the situation and treat it as a base. The neighbourhood was so bad and threatening that we had to get a taxi to the front door every night as you couldn't walk through the neighbourhood.

Then after an afternoon of sightseeing we came back to the room to have a bunch of men knocking on the door asking to come in and see the room there and then , which thankfully my fiancé advised that they couldn't , this should not be happening!

The scenic park they describe across the road is filled with threatening men who sit on the benches drinking most of the day and this only multiplies at the weekend.

There is no nice cafés or restaurants nearby so be prepared to walk.

I understand that the price often reflects what you get but this was just beyond belief !!! I actually cried after seeing where we had to stay this is not what you want from a well deserved weekend with your partner. I actively discourage anyone from staying here, this review can't even begin to summarise the shock you would feel seeing / staying at this place, I felt constantly on edge staying in that neighbourhood and that room!!

Decent room, comfortable place to rest

Close to metro station though environment was a little strange at night. Clean, central and value for money. A reasonable and comfortable place to rest after a whole day of walking and traveling. Host was helpful.

Nice place!

Very nice & friendly place, very very close to bus terminal & metro station. The neighborhood is a little bit strange at night time, but we never felt danger. We will certainly stay there in our next visit

Clean, central and cheap

Clean hotel close to the metro, but not in the nicest area. I dont think the photos gave a fair idea of my room (don´t know whether they match the other rooms better). It had very little floor space and a tiny bathroom, but for a few nights it was okay. No public areas, but that didnt bother me, as I am not travelling to see the inside of the hotel Im staying at. All in all the rooms provide the basic things you need, and for this price one can not expect a luxourious stay. However, I found in particular one thing disturbing about this stay. The owner called me several times on my phone to ask me out for breakfast, to go for a drink and so on. To me that is totally unprofessional and it made my stay less enjoyable, as it made me feel somewhat uncomfortable on the hotel premises. I would therefore recomend this place to a guys (single travellers) or couples, preferly young ones as the older generation might want a bit more service, facilities and comfort.
