WONDERFUL HOLIDAY STAY AT THIS EXCELLENT B & B

michael von 31/07/2017 12:55

My wife and i checked into "a hideaway retreat" B & B as we could see they have excellent reviews. The owners are so hospitable, very friendly and very welcoming. Homemade cake (which was delicious) with tea and coffee too were quickly given to us beautifully served up on very nice china. This was very thoughtful and welcoming indeed. We had a beautifully decorated room, light and airy as the weather was very hot at the time and the facilities excellent with a very comfortable bed also. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast every morning during our stay and relaxing in their guest dining room. The service was excellent throughout the stay and we adored Gails wonderful garden. oh my, her hanging baskets and the whole garden is stunning, she works very hard to keep it this way and is a beautiful sight to see. We even came home with some plants that she grew in her garden and also some of her home made marmalade also.

Richard was extremely helpful giving directions and advice on the best places to visit, where to eat and drink in the evening also. There are so many lovely places to see around that we enjoyed everything, the Castle Park and Castle in colchester was so interesting, Dedham & Countryside so very near to their B & B, the wonderful Zoo and the coast Frinton on sea only 20 minutes from their accommodation also. The bus is very close indeed to their home so is very convenient to go into town from there and back easily from the high street bus stop. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts, the bacon was delicious along with the fruits from the season and of course all Gails preserves also.

We would thoroughly recommend anyone staying here. Also a particular bonus is that "a hideaway retreat" has a very large driveway where guests can park without worry which is a treat these days with expensive parking or parking with permits around town centres. Do stay a few days though as there is so much to see and do even going slightly further to Lavenham only takes 40 minutes or so and if your accommodation is lovely like this, make a holiday of the stay, just as we did.

We have already booked again. Thanks so much Richard & Gail, your doing a grand job in your lovely home.

Peaceful and relaxing

Richard and Gail ensured my stay was relaxing and comfortable. The Garden room was clean and with all facilities required. They were extremely helpful with local amenities with suggestions of good places to eat and shop.

The B&B is on the door step for our sporting activities.

We were impressed with every part of our stay with Gail and Richard. We had a very friendly welcome with a cup of tea, Which is what you need after a long drive, we were made very welcome and shown around the accommodation and every thing pointed out to us, there was no problem parking on the driveway and Richard was only to pleased to help with our bags, we have already booked our next stay. If you want to eat out there are plenty of place's to visit.
