Comfortable resort hotel with nice pool
esw19106on 08/07/2017 18:59Although not right on the water, the hotel does have good views of the bay and beach. It is a walk of about 10 minutes to the town itself, so the hotel is rather self-contained. The best feature for me was the large indoor-outdoor pool with lots of lounge chairs both inside and outside. My room, on the top floor, had a balcony and a nice water view. The nice old style Kurhaus architecture is preserved in the older wing of the hotel. The hotel has an exceptional restaurant, Buddenbrooks, which was a dining highlight. I did not eat at the other hotel venues, but I note that there did not seem to be a place within the hotel to get a light meal at dinner time. Breakfast, included in my rate, was excellent. My room was comfortable, but there were two notable flaws: insufficient lighting at night, making it difficult to read in bed, and sink faucets that were very hard to control. Outdoor parking was available on one side of the hotel at 14 Euros per day. On arrival, you really need to pull up to the hotel's main entrance to unload luggage, because the hotel entrance from the parking area is not accessible without a room card.
One of the best hotels on the Baltic coast
Martin Bon 26/05/2017 19:34I have visited the hotel for the second time and was also not disappointed this time. The hotel is located in the direct vicinity of the walk on the seaside and close to the harbour and the small town. The hotel is kept well in shape and the rooms are clean and spacious. This time I enjoyed a room with sea view with a small terrace. Unfortunately the terrace was not in a good shape and disregarded by the cleaning staff. The rooms are quit and you can not hear anything from the neighbouring rooms. The minibar is filled with free soft drinks every day. The bathroom is spacious and equipped with a wellness shower. The best part of the hotel is the large wellness area with various swimming pools, even one where you can swim from the inside to the outside and a variety of saunas. I was very impressed by the Finnish sauna that is really warm.
Food and beverages are excellent. Great breakfast were you can have any style of breakfast you want. Diner is fine, not excellent but you always find something you like. Strange is the parking fee and something I find impolite to ask of your guests. The hotel is good starting location for running or biking along the Baltic coast.
Spacious rooms and excellent facilities
Ronald Hon 02/05/2017 00:58Stayed for four nights in a suite with a seaview. The two rooms were very comfortable and the facilities were excellent with three restaurants and both indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools. Buffet breakfast was the best we have had in any hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and provided a car to take us the short distance to the railway station on our departure. We recommend this hotel without hesitation and would stay here again when in the Lubeck area. It is strongly advised to book spa treatments in advance, as these are very popular.
Price versus value not very good
antje251on 01/05/2017 19:37Good things first: Great Spa, nice pool and outdoor pool and extraordinary food. The play area for the little ones is also nice. Not good: floor carpets dirty, some maintenance in the spa area needed, for such a price I expect a larger bed and actually a balcony in the room, only one plug in the room to charge devices. Thanks anyway for a great weekend.
Relaxing trip
Helle Mon 07/04/2017 17:23This is the second time we visited A-rosa and the service, staff and surroundings are over the top. The food is excellent and plenty of it. We will definitely come again. Rooms are nice and the view is stunning. Thanks for a lovely stay.
