What People are saying

WOW!

K1698LKcarloson 07/07/2017 05:40

Holy smokes! I pride myself in being tight with a dollar. I drove up about 11:30 PM and half the hotel lights were out. A dozen teens were drinking Miller 40’s in the unlit parking lot. I haven’t been this spooked since Ong Thanh, Viet Nam in 1967. I had second thoughts and I drove once around the block to man up my courage. The hotel clerk was courteous. He gave me a room key. The elevator numbers were rubbed bare. As I sprinted to my room, half the hallway lights were out, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed since probably Bush was President. (the first Bush; HW). The bed was shot, the carpet filthy. I pulled what was left of the window curtains shut so hopefully nobody could get a clear shot through the window. The dead bolt had been broken off so I pulled a table over against the door, stacked chairs on it to provide a warning should anyone try to come in and attempt to retrieve drugs. I kept everything packed, my shoes and clothes on, slept sideways at the foot of taco shaped bed, thinking that there were less bugs or needles lying in wait. On the upside, there was no body floor silhouette, and most importantly there is a liquor store one block away you can run to should you want to drown your bad choice.

Run Don't Walk Away from this hotel!

So my review is based solely on just me trying to get checked in for the evening! I arrived at the hotel around five in the evening, I knew I was in for a special treat when I seen no cars in the parking lot, garbage everywhere, and two people in their pajamas that were dirty, next to an overflowing trash can! I couldn't change my reservation because this is where my company put me!

Go into the lobby doesn't look to bad, then I start seeing all the signs! Don't put your trash here from your room, walk to the dumpster, don't do this, don't do that, etc.. Great a hotel that has employees/owners/managers who hate taking care of people!!

Approach the front desk only to see the guy with his shirt up rubbing his chest talking in a foreign language on his cell phone, and give me the one minute finger! At this point I am now on the phone to my business travel department, because I can tell by now this place is going to be a dump! He finally hanged up after 9 minutes and 23 seconds (yes I did time him) and rudely barks name! I give him it and he cannot find my reservation, I show him my travel department email with confirmation number, as well as the screen shot from his own website of my reservation. With travel on the phone now, he is telling them he cannot put me in a room unless they fax over paperwork! Travel department is upset tells me to head to work and they will call me when it gets sorted, at this time it is now six thirty!!! UGH

I get a call from travel around eight and they moved me to a different hotel, and tell me that they have never experienced such rudeness from a hotel owner/employee as they had from this hotel, and were removing it from their list of hotel options for the area! Apparently they talked to a lady who screamed at them!!

In short while I never got to check out a room, or stay there the customer service experience is enough for me to keep on driving by that hotel, and that is what I did for the next three weeks!

Not even worth the effort

We had to stay here due to a family member being in McLaren Macomb Hospital and needed a place to stay. Due to the fact it was 11:30pm at night, we didn't have any opportunity to check reviews before staying. The room that we stayed in had holes in the walls, peeling paint, not vacuumed, sheets weren't fully on the bed, toilet handle didn't flush, bedside lamp was broken, no clock radio, used Kleenexes behind the bedside table. The Kleenex box in the bathroom was empty. You needed a battering ram to get the door to the room open or closed. The elevator smelled like someone had just smoked a joint in it. The only plug outlet we could find was behind the headboard of the bed. Would complain to corporate but nowhere can I find an email address or phone number to contact them at. Sad as it is to say, it wasn't worth the very good price of $60.00.

Should You Stay at the Victory Motel? NO.

Jane Bon 03/08/2015 18:50

Unfortunately, franchise owners do not keep up the Victory Motel. It is shabby from the moment you drive up and look in the lobby. Night desk clerk very accommodating and tried his best to assist. He brougt clean sheets and new pillows and towels (none in the room when we arrived), which were very small and thin, but clean. Lightbulbs in lamps were burned out. Everything just seemed/felt dirty. Shower curtain appeared as if it had been hanging there since 1954.

unacceptable In every way possible

if you are concerned about your health safety and well-being do not stay there it was absolutely disgusting. I attached a photo of see bedside lamp that was wired with black duct tape showing. There was heat hot water. However, being a registered nurse with much experience traveling on national disasters I learn to carry Clorox wipes and sanitizer with me everywhere which were definitely used in this hotel. Breakfast they advertise was only a thermos of coffee. There was not even paper or plastic cups in the room. glad I brought my own toiletries likes soap and lotions because there were none. My feet stuck to the nasty carpet. My towels looked like they had been used to wash a dirty truck. The television did work. However when I called the desk (another huge mistake as it had splatters of some sorts of substance dried on the buttons and hand set) to ask which channel is NBC he said that "the channels have gone away about a week ago" in a previous review that I read they didn't have it then either there was probably four channel that could be watched the hair dryer hit they provide did not work and it was very difficult trying to get dressed and not touch anything the only reason I stayed there I was too tired to go anywhere else so I felt like I had no choice when I checked out on June 1st 2015 I told the man at the desk but that place was filthy he didn't seem to care they got my money I thought it was Very suspicious did they did not request satisfaction surveys from
their guests. Where are public health inspectors when you need them ? They cannot be busy checking on places that are worse!
