OK but improvable

The hostel was a bit dissappointing in general. Firstly, we booked a room for 8 people with bathroom included but when we arrived there was any bathroom. There is only one kitchen really narrow for all people of the hostel which I find ridiculous. Besides, there isn,t any living room where you can eat your food (it is true that you can take it in the terrace, where there are some tables and chairs but what about if it is cold???).

Some of the staff could be kinder in my opinion.

By the way, I have to say that the location is really good. It takes you 5-10 minutes to the underground and there are a lot of pubs nearly. So the centre of the city is really near you.

I would choose this hostel if I were with my friends to enjoy Berlin and not to stay so much time in the hostel but the price for it is good.

1. Noisy
- full of school groups and generally inconsiderate people. Screams and shrieks until past 1130pm banging in hallways etc. Really hard to get a decent sleep at any point.
- room windows open directly above the common bar area so not only do you get noise but your rooms fill with cigarette smoke.

2. Filthy
- bathrooms: female toilets on level 2 out of toilet paper the entire stay, a disgusting and unhygienic mess of 'feminine fluids' was left in the toilet and over the floor for >24hrs without being cleaned. Boys bathroom smelt so rank that the entire of level 2 hallway was overpowered by the smell.
- kitchen: utterly stinks of rotting food, tiny bar sized fridge is overflowing with rotting foods, minimal equipment to cook with and all felt greasy to the touch.
- rooms: acceptable in that they are clean enough, but little else... Only two powerpoints in an 8-ppl dorm, and paperthin walls, noisy ++.

3. Great location
- the only real saving grace, right near a train station, in a gorgeous area with tons of cafes bars etc, supermarket around the corner.

4. Staff
- the majority were friendly and helpful, but a few of the male staff would literally ignore you while you waited patiently at the front desk to be served, you would have to wait for someone else to serve you.

WORST STAY EVERY

Most unclean and unsafe hostel i've ever stayed in, "guests" trying to break into our room at 12:30am as well as vandalising our door, security was phoned but almost no action was taken. No security on hand and no janitor on site to fix damaged door.

Showers and sinks full of pubic hair and ants, used condom within the eating area of the hostel and was not cleaned up or moved throughout the whole duration of our stay.

Would definitely not recommend this hostel as it is disgusting and quite frankly unsafe!!!

Very noisy

Our twin room was in the main building/ground floor, right behind the reception. We could hear literally everything both from the corridor and the yard - the walls are like paper. If you want to sleep at all, remember to bring earplugs with you. Most of the hostel guests seem to be groups of teenagers, and they scream and shout in the yard all the time. Also, there was always people hanging out right behind our window so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. If possible, try to get yourself a room from anywhere else but the ground floor.

Then some good stuff: wifi is free and works great, room was clean and generally nice, bathroom also ok.

No security

We were 5 people in a 6dorm room! The door couldn't close well, first night someone stole our money, second night my microfiber towel. The hostel can't do anything for us, no care about customers, no care about security! I don't recommend it at all
