Justin von 06/08/2017 19:43This is a fairly big affair, so if you're looking for homey, you might try elsewhere. Very close to train station (which, besides being where you'll probably arrive, has lots of shops), and quite close to the old city. Staff very professional and helpful. Rooms plenty of space. Breakfast good too.
Budget friendly family/group option.
HejHejHappyon 28/07/2017 02:42It has been a couple of decades since I lasted backpacked and stayed in a hostel, or slept on a plastic wrapped mattress, but they were never as clean or as pleasant as this. If you are travelling in a large group, school/club tours, or families/couples on a budget, than this is the place for you. We had an ensuite double room and it was very clean. Breakfast is sufficent, cereal, cheeses, cold cuts of meat, yogurt, juices, tea/coffee, bread. Help yourself as much as you like. They will make you a packed lunch if advised and ordered previously as well. There is a kids indoor play area, washing machine/dryer and additional kitchen if needed.
The down sides are, there is no fan/air conditioning in the rooms. During our stay it was 35c and the room was HOT. I recommend you request a room at the back of the building. Ours was 1st floor and street side. We could open the window in our room, but we then had 4 lanes of traffic right outside, plus they are building a commercial building over the road. It was too noisy. It is a hostel, it will get noisy at night in the halls, people party on the balcony off the downstairs bar area well into the night. But, it is clean, cheap, super close to the city centre, and even closer to the train station and the multilingual staff are very very helpful and very nice. Our group were more than happy.

mauricioandinomolinaon 29/05/2017 10:12The service was kind and good! The rooms were clean, although the water system (hot/cold water) wasn't working properly. The breakfast was perfect. The Bar attention was awesome, nice cocktails, good beer and the guy in charge extremely welcoming!!!

Friendly staff and fun common room area with sofas and pool tables and a bar.
Nice cotton sheets and good location. Easy walk to the Aldtstadt and city centre.
The breakfast cost extra however it has a great selection of fleischsalat (meat salad), egg, cheese, bread, cereal,salad, juice, tea and coffee and hot chocolate.
All of the a and o hostels have excellent facilities and very clean and feels like new. They almost feel like a hotel.
Good common room area with sofas, bar, restaurant and pool table.
These hostels are always in a good location near the city centre or near the Hauptbahnhof

Mylo Bon 12/08/2016 12:44We stayed here from 15-16th Feb 2016. The hotel/hostel is just infront of the Leipzig Hauptbahnhoft. It is not noisy. It is within walking distance from the landmarks of Leipzig, and 15 mins driving away from Monument of the Battle of the Nations. The reception area is big with a few chairs and a bar with a pool table. Its dated and not chic but its clean and the receptionists are pelasant. We stayed in room 316 which is a quadruple room. Its quiet when we stayed so we dont know if it can get noisy if the hotel is full. The room is sparsely furnished and was very basic. The beds are ok and the shower is good. Our 13 and 15 year old sons liked the room and its internet. Parking at back, we prepaid.
We drove and climbed up Monument of the Battles of the Nations, went out to walk to the city centre landmarks (St Nicholas’s Church, the Old and Newmarket and the Leipzig University etc) and at our dinner at Indian Gate Restaurant. We got home at 2030, slept at 2200. It was a grand day out. We then drove on (we had several destinations all over Germany that week).
The hotel suited its purpose for us. Nothing fancy, no luxury. Its cheap, its close to what we want to see. If you travel light and wants a budget place with no high expectation, I would recommend this for you.
