Old codgers reunion

Good basic solid hotel, Eileen was a cheerful very helpful host and nothing was too much trouble. One of our party had to return unexpectedly a day earlier than he had planned as his wife had been taken ill and she said she would refund him if they managed to resell the room which she did.
My only minor complaint was that the handle on the shower in my room number 10 was broken and needs fixing but I didn't complain as I could work it fine.
Very central and within easy walk of all the attractions of Shrewsbury which are many, never visited before but thoroughly recommend it as it is a hidden jewel of a town with many finely preserved Tudor buildings.

Brilliant stay.

We stayed here for three nights last week. The pitch was perfect. Close to town and rural river surroundings, short stroll to Quarry Park footpath. Peaceful river/tree lined walk to the boat Quay, where we boarded boat for 45 min trip up the Severn..Refreshments on the way. What more can you ask for!

Hotel was small and friendly and very efficient. Helpful at all times. Even the two girls assisting main staff were lovely.

Room was small but had what we needed for three sleeps. Lovely patio in back garden (a real sun trap) for relaxation after a trip out.

Breakfast..amazing selection for small appetite and large. Well presented and served with a smile and care.

Lounging area ..where you could chat with proprietors and other guests was comfortable and laid back.

Would definitely recommend to any person considering a stay in Shrewsbury. You would find it hard to find better.
Thank you to the entire household!

We stayed here 21-23 July 17 perfect location the staff are all very friendly free parking nice room(7) overlooking the rear garden the breakfast was FAB just needs a lick of paint, But you would not think this is only a two star hotel we will be back again. Well done !

This two star hotel was conveniently situated 5mins walk in to Town. We were able to park in front of the hotel. We enjoyed our vegan breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downfall was the bathroom was small as we need space. Also there was a smell in room of drains which wasn't in other parts of hotel. all in all stay was pleasant and enjoyable.

Room was freezing

I have stayed here before and although old fashioned the rooms were ok however on this occasion we were put in a basement room with no window which was very cold and claustraphobic ... breakfast was very good and staff friendly. Dont like having to leave car keys at the desk for staff to be able to move my car.
