What People are saying
Value for money
Vaibhav Non 24/08/2017 19:48Nice hotel with excellent view from all the rooms. The staff of the hotel was very friendly. Location of the hotel is also quite nice which is very near to beach
Would have liked to have better breakfast spread and bigger dining area
But overall its a good place to stay and is value for money
A good place to unwind
Rjmathuron 22/08/2017 12:22The resort was a little far away than expected but completely worthwhile. You feel refreshed once you see the place and realise its worth every penny. We stayed in an apartment room which cost us Rs.2500 per day. The rooms were very clean. However, I expected bathtubs in each room which were missing.. The biggest USP of the resort is the location and the nature around it.Once you are there you realise that the resort is completely in the middle of nature. Beach is at walking distance. a great place to spend quality time with the love of your life.
This resort should be your last option
eskaygon 20/08/2017 09:41Not a pleasant experience or memories.Stayed for three nights and grossly unhappy for following experiences:
1. Electric toaster did not work for entire period-no hot toasted bread with omlette at breakfast -much desired on relaxed breakfasts on vacations.
2.Electric Kettle in the room was not functioning. On first day had to wait for more than half hour to have bed tea-what a way to start vacation! Kettle was changed mercifully.
2. Not a single juice for breakfast. Breakfast had very poor spread on all the days.
3. Hot Masala Corn Machine kept in the dining area but once you decide to enjoy on
a monsoon evening you are told machine not working for weeks.Upsetting small kids no end and difficult to pacify them for not meeting their demand/preference.
4. Room A/c stuck at temp of 18 degrees. Could not increase temp-chilled for three nights-torture for senior citizens. Switching off option was not practical owing to humidity and mosquitoes. Complaints went unheeded except for a visit by a different technician every day but not solving the problem.Extra blankets also not offered.
5.Booking was done thru Booking .com which assures that credit card will not be charged till 3 days before arrival date yet was asked to make Part advance payment about Three weeks ahead.
6.Free Wi- Fi in the rooms mentioned in the resort facilities turned out to be incorrect. Internet connection was intermittent and very week in the rooms.
7. Pleasure of having Tea on the open Deck (prominently displayed in Resort details) in the evening was rudely denied by manager Mr. Suresh as staff may be unwilling to walk extra distance.
Nice Sea View from each room cannot be the only USP for satisfaction of Guests.
In short best avoid this resort till they improve service and get customer centric.
Better options available in Ganpatipule.
Excellent Location
sorabhon 17/08/2017 13:54Location is Excellent but service is just satisfactory. Food is ordinary Complimentary breakfast does not have a variety. Take the rooms on higher floors to enjoy the beach view. Wi-Fi is poor. A good property but has been maintained properly It could be popular place if maintained property with trained staff
A GOOD PROPERTY WHICH CAN BE EXCELLENT
AVIDTRAVELLER09on 12/08/2017 10:30I stayed in this property for two nights very recently. This was also my first visit to Ganpatipule.
Reservation was easy, on the email though (they still do not have the direct online option) & the management insists on advance payment (instead of credit card guarantee).
The location is fantastic (on an elevated ridge, along the ciastal road, overlooking the ocean). However, connectivity is a definite issue, owing to the remoteness of the location. It is an hour's drive from Ratnagiri railway station (only auto rickshaw available in station). The hotel can arrange a car pickup/drop at a charge (about Rs. 1200.00, one way)
The hotel is a short (5 min. Max.) drive from the Ganpati temple & is set among very sylvan surroundings. The grounds are really large & full of greenery. They have a flock of pet geese (which qwacks throughout the day & night) & amazingly some pet goats (which are most often penned but at times left roaming loose along the hotel corridirs), which was a rather unique thing for me. I was not comfortable.
The "beach resort" name is a complete misnomer, because the hotel is NOT on a beach. It is on a hillock overlooking the sea, a road separetes the beach from the hotel. The beach is a 10 min. (Downhill scramble/uphill climb) walk from the beach.
The view from the higher (2nd floor) rooms are fantastic & has clear views of the sea breakers & the hills alongside.
Rooms, though clean & hygenic, are really shabby. The rooms are small & walls are peeling. Furniture & fixtures are old, in bad need of polish/paint. The toilet fittings are also rusting. Overall, the rooms are in need of major renovation. The bed can be a tad more comfortable as well. The property is 15 years old.
The other MAJOR drawback, are the number of stairs one has to negotiate, from the main gate to the reception to the restaurant and finally to the room.
There are no elevators in this 3/4 story property. The deluxe rooms (with the best view) are on the 3rd floor & one reaches the door breathless every single time. This property is not designed for old persons & those who are differently abled. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS DRAWBACK, in my opinion, for family vacations with old parents/realtives.
The property is complete with childrens play area (with swings etc.) and a billiard table. Adequate overnight parking space is also available, which is a definite positive.
The best thing about the hotel is it's food. Breakfast (included in the tariff) is decent, but the sea food is fantastic. I shall remember the prawn tawa fry (quantity is sad though) & the pomfret (decent size) rawa fry, for a longtime. The freshness of the fish & prawn was incredible.
The tariff is very competitive & makes this property a "visit again" option. However, one has to remember the never ending stairs!!
