Lovely stay at lovely hotel

The Abode Hotel in Canterbury is a wonderful place to stay. We only spend one night, but I would have loved to stay longer. The people at the desk are very friendly and helpful. The room was impressive. We got an upgrade to a larger room which was really nice. We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was amazing, tartlet of mushrooms and the blowtorch quail to start with, the special as main course followed by coffee and sweets.
Nice cosy bar and the next morning a really great breakfast.

Lovely hotel in centre of Canterbury , opposite museum. Room was very spacious, modern and comfortable. The bar was nice with good selection of drinks. The service from staff very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone visiting Canterbury to stay here. We hope to return one day.

Stay at this hotel , must say the staff were helpful & very knowledgeable, the service in restaurant excellent.
The lobster & steak deal very good. The breakfasts excellent plenty to choose.The rooms were clean,
Only complaint I have somebody been smoking in the room!!!! Could smell it!!

All good except for one thing

The location is fantastic...right on the main drag and close to all attractions. Receptions were very friendly and quick to check me in. Hotel has a lift. The room was a decent size and clean. Bathroom was nice, with amenities and a hot towel rack. The breakfast was ample, varied, and good. So, what was the problem? The bed! It was way too soft and a bit lumpy. It hurt my back.

Canterbury Break

I have always wanted to stay at the Abode in Canterbury, however I have been left somewhat disappointed. For what we paid our room (110) was incredibly basic, some might argue that you are paying for the location however I disagree. The bathroom had mold around the bath and our overall comfort was marred by the lack of sound proofing as we were woken very early to bins being emptied, even with the windows closed. I was also suprised that breakfast wasn't included in the price as standard. Overall our stay was ok, however for such a nice looking hotel it lacked for me the attention to detail.
