Good but nothing special
Jenny Won 29/08/2017 19:39We stayed in a "Desirable" room but I struggled to see what the extra money was for. I even phoned reception to check it was the right room and got quite a terse "yes". It appears the extra was for a view of the road with a small balcony which had just 1 chair on it. Even though the weather was lovely I didn't want to sit on my own on the balcony breathing in traffic fumes.
Had the girl on reception bothered to ask how our stay had been when we checked out I would have told her but she didn't bother to ask.
The hotel was OK but nothing special.
Great location and wonderful hotel
at23120on 29/08/2017 11:43Recently stayed in this hotel for two nights during the week. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated/furnished. The rooms are also very spacious. We had a great view over the race course.
We had pre-ordered drinks to be taken to our room for 9pm which sadly did not arrive. I phoned the desk and this was quickly corrected and we were given chocolates as an apology which were great. It was just a shame the surprise was ruined for my other half but the gesture was very much appreciated.
The staff were all very friendly and very helpful. I will 100% stay here again.
Nice Hotel
ashy9121on 28/08/2017 23:41Nice hotel in a great location in Chester. Great location to bars and food, and also a balcony overlooking the racecourse.
Only downsides, room is nice, but nothing special. Car park is £10 which was charged on exit. Total of £130 for a night is pricey for a room that would be similar to a travel lodge.
Silver wedding
Geraldine Von 28/08/2017 21:03We had room 205. A fine room directly over entrance with a balcony and one chair. The en suite shower was excellent and lovely but white fluffy bath sheets. The bed however was not that big. Not a good night's sleep. There was a wedding and we could not get a drink until 4.15 when they moved into the restaurant. That was then unavailable for that evening. The quality and service at breakfast was superb.
Classy room
Merlot84on 27/08/2017 22:18Stayed for my partners birthday and the room we had was exceptional. The most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in! The room as a whole was perfect. Tried the champagne bar, a little bit expensive but on whole a lovely atmosphere. The all day parking (even though we had checked out) was an added bonus - would definitely stay here again
