Great location, great hotel
r gon 29/08/2017 00:43Right downtown, next to the park. A short walk to everything. Beautiful old hotel, modernized to the nines. Not cheap but excellent place to stay. Refreshments available on the veranda all day. Continental breakfast provided.
Average Hotel
troopkent2on 28/08/2017 21:06The Acadia Inn is in a great location close to the Acadia National Park and only about a mile from the town center. The rooms where clean, but 1 of the beds was very old and very squeaky with the slightest movement. The free shuttle is a good deal but it stops at many other hotels along the way so it can be crowded. If the weather is nice you can walk to town or just take an Uber (there are about 3 of them in the summer).
Close to the park
Nutmeg200on 26/08/2017 02:28We had a very nice family stay and would return to this hotel. This was a mid-August trip for a family of four to see Acadia. The hotel's location is very good, on a highway outside of Bar Harbor. Many of the area's hotels are on this strip, and there's a convenient and free loop that runs between town and the hotels. We recommend that if you ride the bus into town, get off at the College of the Atlantic on the return trip. It's just across the street from the Acadia Inn and saves you some time riding the bus loop. There's a hiking path into the park behind the hotel. It leads to one of the park's carriage roads, and the nearby lake makes for a pretty view and enjoyable jaunt. You can actually walk to the park's visitor center on one of this trail's branches. The rooms were fine, the hotel clean, the area safe, the staff quite friendly and helpful. It was quiet, and we slept well. The laundry facilities in a quite warm room in the basement were helpful as we were in the midst of a long trip. $2 a load, I think, but the machines hold a lot. Breakfast was convenient. Once again, it's a nice hotel and we would recommend it to friends.
Pleasant stay
jer bon 25/08/2017 11:35This inn is located just outside downtown Bar Harbor and conveniently close to the park. Rooms are pretty typical with two queen beds and normal sized bathrooms. The staff seems very friendly and they are helpful. I ran out of shaving cream and the supplied that. They counseled us about sunrise on Cadillac Mountain and they were correct about timing it (go a hour before in order to get a parking spot). There is a pool and hot tub, which we did not use. Breakfast was very nice with something for everyone. Check out easy. Ask for a third floor room ad we heard the guest above us walking through the night. Rooms in the back are quieter and the access to the parking lot is better too. We would return as it was clean, quiet and had comfortable beds.

Nikki Bon 22/08/2017 21:20We stayed at Acadia Inn for four nights as a family, and had a fine experience. The location is wonderful--close to Acadia National Park and close to Bar Harbor. The staff put out snacks in the dining area each afternoon which was such a welcome touch (especially after hiking in Acadia all morning), and had board games in a cupboard for folks to play at the tables. The gripes come with the hotel's general cleanliness; there were a few long black hairs in the complimentary coffee basket.
All said and done I would stay at Acadia Inn again, I just wish a few things were different.
