Best hotel
riri652016on 09/08/2017 09:57I would like to thank the hotel for being so welcoming and to have created this beautiful gem hotel. It was a real pleasure returning back to the room each day and finding it so clean and pleasant.
This hotel has managed to give us a feeling of residential apartment yet with all the luxury of being in a hotel. Great staff at reception and at breakfast. Always helpful and with a smile a real pleasure!
The area is buzzing full of restaurant, bars and cafes. A pleasure to just wonder the streets.
Excellent boutique hotel in Prenzlauer Berg
marjokayon 19/07/2017 16:26I can honestly say the Ackselhaus is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. My partner and I stayed in a very spacious, colonial Eqyptian themed room called the Kairo. The room was so beautiful it almost made me want to spend all my time in Berlin in the hotel room instead of exploring the city! Well, almost... We even had an old-style massive bath tub in the room. On our last night I finally gave it a go and took a lovely bubble bath!
Buffet-style breakfast was served in a beautiful room in the next building. The hotel is small, so it was usually very quiet there.
Overall staying here (and in Prenzlauer Berg which has lots of old world charm) was a memorable Berlin experience. Hope to be back some day!
Charming hotel in Prenzlauer Berg
northerntraveler2017on 11/07/2017 14:08We had a suite in the blue home building. It was very comfortable, with a balcony and a small kitchen. The hotel breakfast was excellent and there are many good restaurants in the neighborhood. We would come back.
A lovely enhancement to the charm of Prenzlauer Berg in Berlin
ThMoCon 09/07/2017 19:45We enjoyed eight days in the Maritime room - very comfortable and pleasant. The neighborhood is quiet while still being interesting. We found many excellent restaurants nearby and the breakfast at the hotel was excellent with outside seating. The location is right by the tram which easily connects you to Berlin, which is a bit too spread out for walking. 30 euros buys you a 7 day pass that lets you hop on and off the S-bahn, U-bahn, trams and buses. Our stay was not too long - there is an incredible amount to see in Berlin!
So Comfortable
JChusedon 03/07/2017 10:00We stayed at Ackselhaus for 8 nights and were absolutely delighted with our choice. Our room, the Maritime, was lovely, with a view over the garden in the inner courtyard. Prenzlauer Berg, where it is located, is the best place to stay in Berlin, quiet and residential, yet a very short tram ride away from the heart of the city and all the wonderful museums and memorial sights, at the same time it is hip, charming, filled with charming boutiques, great restaurants, and lovely parks. The hotel itself is delightful, and the morning breakfast buffet excellent, with good cappuccino, smoked salmon, and all the yogurt, croissants, cheeses, fruits, etc you might want. Our bed was comfortable...the only complaint being that we had two separate duvets and they were unable to give us one to share. We would return.
