Good value for mondy
alexyoung06on 02/10/2016 23:17The apartments are a little out of the town compared to other hotels/apartments in the surrounding area however it is in walking distance and you can also hire bikes free of charge from Acqua which seems to be a popular way to get around in lake Garda. Apartment had everything needed with a nice little balcony. The pool/outside area is not as nice as the sister hotel minstrel and would recommend going there to use the pool.
There are also 2 beautiful vineyards just round the corner which are a must see! Overall lovely stay and great value for money.
Good value, quiet location
Londongal_10on 12/09/2016 22:12A good value apartment in a quiet location - about 10 minutes walk to bars, restaurants, supermarkets and bus stop for nearby towns. Bikes available for hire if you don't want to do the walking. We walked into Sirmione at the beginning of the week without realising how far it was - bus/bike/car definitely recommended to get here, especially on a hot day!
The apartment itself is clean, has a modern feel to it, but could do with a bit more equipment - I missed not having a grill or toaster for toast in the morning and there is no mirror in the bedroom, at least not in our apartment. Plenty of room to spread out and unpack everything though and a little cupboard where we put the suitcases away.
Pool area around the Acqua is a bit cramped but well worth going down to the Mistral Hotel where you can use their facilities - a much bigger pool area, and a grassed area leading down to the lake and also a nice terrace bar/restaurant for lunch and or dinner.
We stayed for a week and really enjoyed exploring the area, either on foot or on the local buses. We took one boat trip, from Sirmione to Bardolino. The receptionists at the Acqua are very friendly and helpful with any queries. We got the bus from the main road into Verona - took about an hour.
Would recommend all of the restaurants we visited, our favourite being the Albraciere, at the Hotel Riei (at the bottom of the road, also the nearest). Along on the main road (turn right at bottom of road, past Hotel Cristal) Pasticceria La Fenice great for late afternoon/early evening drinks or gelato, and overlooks the lake. Ciclone a very good upmarket restaurant. Make a reservation here if you want a table outside.
Nice deli along on the main road too but turn left on the main road for the Migross supermarket where you'll get everything you could need there.
Would recommend staying here for a budget holiday but if you need to cook in the apartment to save money there isn't much in the way of equipment, pretty basic. We struggled with the corkscrew provided so stick with the beers or screw tops!.
Italian adventure part 2
davehansenon 04/09/2016 19:14I must admit that we are a bit thrown when we arrived. It didn't look like the pictures we had seen on the website we used to book through. It took us a few minutes to realise there was more than one apartment block.
I can't remember which website we used to book acqua resorts, but it stated there were laundry facilities on site. There wasn't which was a bit of a hassle for us. We had just spent a week elsewhere in Italy and needed to use a laundry. Lesson learned. Anyway, after getting settled in we drove off to Colombare to use the laundromat there. There is only 2 washing machines, so it can be crowded. All the amenities we needed, grocery store etc, were located here.
We also picked acqua resorts so that we could prepare our own meals. The kitchen is basic, with only a cooktop and limited amount of pots, pans and utensils. But that was enough for us.
We only used the apartment as a place to sleep as we were out all day being tourists.
I didn't interact with the staff often but when I did, I found them to be great. Especially when we needed advice for a trip to Venice, or directions to the Hospital when your youngest splits his head open in the pool. The pool and the air con in the apartment were wonderful, especially for our kids.
Located close enough to Colombare, and a bit further from Sirmione, it is relatively quiet. I don't know if there is public transport to Sirmione, but parking in Sirmione was a nightmare if you don't get there early.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We would definitely come back
Very nice apartment, good value for money!
natierafaon 13/10/2015 09:57I loved my stay at Acqua resort, the apt was beautiful decorated, spacious and clean. The owner (Emanuela) was really kind and helpfull. Its located in a quiet neighbourhood not far from Sirmione. They can rent you bikes for free.
There are good restaurants around with a fair price few minutes by driving or even walking (Cavallo has an amazing pizza). I really reccomend this place, very good value for money in this region.
Excellent value
Borissov06on 18/12/2014 09:43We stayed there 4 nights in the off-season, the price is really unbeatable compared to hotels.
The appartment was really nice, and quite big : big bedroom, big bathroom, lots of furniture to put away clothes, the kitchen is smaller but practical.
There is also a soft sauna and a jacuzzi in the building, nice!
The resort is close to a supermarket, in a quiet residentail area of the town.
