Comfortable and a good value. Good location to visit Documenta
Lorrin Won 10/07/2017 18:58We spent three nights while searching out and visiting various Documenta exhibit venues. This hotel fit the bill for our needs. It's not fancy but is quite solid.
The staff was very helpful in informing us on how to visit venues using the city's tram (trolley) system. The 4 & 8 lines are less than a block from the hotel and both take you right to the main Documenta venue (as well as other interesting sites, such as the Ratskeller). The tram system can get you around a good part of the town.
There is apparently a nearby free public parking lot but we were able to find street parking very near the hotel (which is also free).
Our room was comfortable and clean and what we expected. The bathroom, while not large, was adequate and the shower was comfortable (i.e., not one of the tiny types). The only flaw was that the hotel and rooms are not air conditioned. Not a problem during most of the year but it would have been appreciated in the summer. We opened the windows for ventilation but the street in front of the hotel is cobblestone and quite noisy. Fortunately, we were there on a weekend and there was relatively little automobile traffic (at night) but it was quite noisy on Monday morning when residents stared to go to work.
The breakfast meal is outstanding and a highlight. Hotel Wi-Fi worked well and was, I believe, free.

SATraveler_11on 16/06/2017 17:13Nice older hotel, we stayed here for 10 days visiting a relative. We were given two HUGE rooms with two beds each and a very large sitting area, two large TV's and a massive wonderful balcony with great views. The breakfast was only 5 Euros so that was a deal! The staff are very friendly, helpful and all spoke English. They give you free tram tickets which was great, and the location is only about a block to the tram stop. The rates were reasonable. The only critical thing to say is the small bathroom. Overlook that and you have a nice, clean hotel for your visit. Very convenient to some nice restaurants too. We would stay there again, thank you for a memorable visit!
Good price, good location
L_Kongoon 16/06/2017 07:40Stayed here on our way down through Germany. Hotel is located not to far from the bar street and rooms are pretty nice. There are some nice restaurant just across the street. Breakfast is definitely worth the extra 5€.

Salchipapas92on 02/08/2016 16:55It was good enough for one night but I thought the price was a little high for what it was (69 euro). The double bed room "bed" (two beds pushed together) took up the majority of the room and the bathroom was tiny. I would have paid more to stay in a nicer hotel if I had been staying longer than one night. There were many mystery stains on the carpet and a mega mystery stain on the chair. The vent in the bathroom was very dirty and the shower curtain didn't do much to hold the water in... But! The woman at the front desk was very very nice and she spoke English which I was happy about because my German is horrible.

Sonny Won 29/07/2016 22:31Was travelling from wales to poland so chose here to stay the night we didnt arrive until 4.30 am but check in was still smooth we didnt spend long here but it was a good few hours kip nice hot shower and a fresh brekky before we left again at 10.30 the family room was great loads of space if you were staying longer will try and use here for the return journey
