What People are saying

Nice hotel but right in the red light zone

Nadia Bon 21/07/2017 15:42

Very nice and charming hotel. Clean and we'll provided. Staff is friendly and very obliging. Breakfast is continental.

Decoration of the room would need to be refresh a little though.

The location is a short walking distance from the train station. However, you end up right in the middle of the red light district of Geneva, i.e prostitutes everywhere and their procurer watching them over (sometimes in front of the hotel door). Nevertheless, you would never be harrassed or even approached and you do not feel insecure while walking in the street to/from the hotel.

A nice hotel

This is a very reasonably priced hotel for what you get. The room was the nicest I had in Switzerland, very clean and a very comfortable bed. Even a slight view of the water jet fountain in Lake Geneva.
The staff were super friendly and helpful and a nice breakfast was provided

Comfortable, good value and great staff

It's my second time staying here and I'll return. Good value for a very convenient location. Room was clean, and bed very comfortable. Bread, pastries, etc for continental breakfast were fresh. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Would certainly recommend.

An overnight stay before long train journey

largefamilymummyon 17/03/2017 14:11

We travelled to Geneva for an overnight stop, a day of sightseeing, then a long train journey.
The hotel is minutes from the main shopping area, railway, and Lake. We walked from the bus stop at the railway station to the hotel, 5mins.
The hotel is undergoing extensive refurbishment, but whilst the front of the hotel may be covered in scaffolding it was fabulously clean inside.
The lift is small - quaint!
There are stairs, winding up to each floor, difficult to carry luggage.
The bedroom and decor maybe old fashioned, but spotless. Gleaming white bedding, towels, shower curtains, and no dirt in bathrooms, or on carpets.
The breakfast is FABULOUS! Geneva is so expensive when dining, so the breakfast keeps you fuelled up.
I read lots of negative comments on this site, but as an ex travel agent, and a frequent Cruiser I can't criticise a hotel that's moving forward and maintains cleanliness, good customer service, and scrumptious breakfast.
The hotel did have some ladies walking by, other end of the road, but central Geneva direction - nothing.
I travelled as a female, with my 11yr old daughter, off to visit my other daughter, and would definitely stay again.

Weekend Visit

Mathew Lon 07/03/2017 13:01

When pulling up to the hotel, the entire outside is covered with scaffolding however this did not limit access to the hotel and the work being conducted was on the outside only.
Upon checking in a full 3 hours early we were told the room was available and we were given access straight away.
Another positive was being presented with weekend travel passes that allowed free access to public transport including trains, buses, trams & water taxis (we were never asked to present these all weekend however).

The room was large enough and the bathroom large enough and the shower had decent pressure.

There are complimentary tea / coffee making facilities however milk was not provided and only flavoured tea provided (if you like an English brew you will have to buy your own). There is a shop right next door so you can buy milk and tea. There is also a fridge in the room with a small selection of drinks in the minibar.

An Iron was provided on request however they do not have ironing boards available. The Towel across the bed trick sufficed however was not ideal.

Breakfast is continental as you would expect. The breakfast is served downstairs in the lobby / reception room as it is one big room however this wasn't a problem. Seating was sufficient. A negative I have to mention is that the the only toast making option was a two slice toaster that takes some time to toast the bread. If there is a queue you can be waiting 15 minutes to make a couple of slices. Other items included fresh eggs that you can boil to your liking, pastries, salami, cheese, cereals, juices and yogurts.

Location wise, the hotel is a few minutes walk to the main train station and tram station. The lake is also only a few minutes walk away and the main shopping part of geneva roughly 10-20 minutes walk. There are plenty of bars and restaurants also within walking distance.

RED LIGHT DISTRICT: If you mind seeing women standing on street corners or scantily dressed in shop windows, you may want to avoid. I suspect this would not be a family viable option however they do not approach you for business and it feels safe enough an area to walk through which is only a couple of streets and then you are out of the area. I never once felt an issue with the area.

All in all the location, facilities, staff and comfort levels were pretty good. Geneva being really expensive, you would probably struggle to find a cheaper alternative.
