Ticks all the boxes with no frills
Aaron Son 06/08/2017 13:06The Admiral Inn is conveniently located next to the main road, and very easy to find. Surrounding the hotel there are a few places to eat if you fancy that, and there is a Walmart supercenter located about a 5 minute drive away.
The receptionist upon arrival was extremely pleasant. She was chatty, laughing and engaging, making you feel very comfortable and as if nothing was too much to ask.
The rooms were very clean when we arrived and had everything you wanted. However, you did get the feel that the hotel was due a refurb in the coming months. It had the feel of a tiring establishment.
The breakfast was very very good. Plenty of choice (bacon, sausage, egg, yoghurts, waffles and more!). Everyone could comfortably eat.
The admiral Inn also has free parking and is located about 30 minutes drive from Toronto Pearson airport.
We found underwear in the bed!
lmb00thon 01/08/2017 16:29My colleague and I stayed at the Admiral Inn in Burlington over the weekend for a conference. We checked in around 8 pm. The front desk lady was very nice, and when we were given a king instead of 2 doubles, she kindly changed our room for us. However, this is where the pleasant stay ended.
My colleague pulled back the covers of one of the beds to discover a pair of used women's underwear between the sheets! It was absolutely disgusting, and we couldn't believe that housekeeping had done such a poor job (if any) of tidying our room. Upon inspection of the second bed, we found crumbs and food smudges in the sheets. Neither of our bedding had been changed after the last stay!! We went down to let them know what we found and the lady handed us new bedding (but really didn't apologize or seem overly shocked). We had to deal with the dirty underwear and make our own beds!! It was totally unacceptable. We were exhausted and decided to wait until check out to discuss the matter again with front desk.
The next morning, we checked out quickly as we had such a terrible sleep in our obviously uncleaned room. We mentioned the incident to the man at the front desk. He clearly didn't believe us and even insinuated that it was our fault. He was extremely rude and claimed that no one had stayed in the room prior to us (how long had that underwear been there then!?) and that he had inspected the room himself (well, obviously did a terrible job). Nothing was done by management to rectify the situation and we didn't even get an apology.
To top it off, we emailed management and never even got a reply. This hotel doesn't care about its customers or even basic cleanliness. Don't stay here if you want a nice night at a hotel.
What a great staycation!
rubie18on 22/07/2017 20:13I decided I needed a spur of the moment treat & booked a midweek night in a King Room. The front desk manager was so accommodating to my needs upon arrival. I'm disabled & needed a room with an accommodating shower ... until I realized I'd forgotten my shower chair! (Sorry again about that.)
As I rolled through the hotel on my scooter, I was greeted warmly by three different members of the housekeeping staff. Friendly staff was a theme for my entire stay.
Upon arrival in my room, it was well appointed & extremely comfortable. There's a fridge, microwave, & coffeemaker. A large TV. Free & very stable wi-fi connection. And I had a TERRIFIC sleep in the King Bed. So good in fact, that I didn't want to leave. And thankfully Rita at the front desk was able to find a cancellation so I could stay an extra night.
Breakfast was included & it was yummy! Bacon, eggs, english muffin, OJ & a lovely cup of tea. The woman working in the breakfast room offers a friendly smile...when she isn't a total blur! She works very fast at ensuring everything is stocked up and fresh. (***There's a tip jar near the cereal, don't forget to bring some $ to breakfast for this extremely hardworking person!)
I'll remind you this isn't a 5 star resort, its a nice little value inn - so you might want to pack your own toiletries. Soap & shampoo are available, but if you need more than that, bring it along.
All in all, I had a fantastic time. I will definitely come back again to Admiral Inn & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends/family coming to Burlington to visit. Thanks!
Excellent Value and updated facility.
Nick Don 13/07/2017 01:44Stayed here in two rooms for two nights. Check-in staff very friendly, facility in nice shape, rooms all updated and spacious. Comfortable bed. Comprehensive hot and continental breakfast. Extremely good value! Would definitely stay here again!
Nothing special, out of the way
milady_12on 04/07/2017 04:19We stayed here on a trip through Canada because just about everything was booked up (Canada Day and 4th of July weekend). The hotel was OK but the other guests near us were a bit noisy. The location, though, is not near anything except a highway. Very few places to eat nearby, and nothing to see in Burlington. Cleanliness was fair. Bed was pretty comfortable.
