What People are saying
Nice hotel to stay and only a few minutes walk to the beach.
Lucas Von 24/08/2017 17:22Positive:
Rooms are nice and beds are large (we were in a twin beds room). I liked the roller shutters so you can make the room very dark. That's very nice when you want to sleep in without to much light from outside. Also liked the balkony and the tv where you can hookup a laptop through hdmi.
Shower and bathroom very comfortable and looks very nice.
Negative:
When you're at the back of the hotel mind you that you will occasionally hear the trains (I think about once every hour, I didn't keep track of it). I sleep with earplugs and it didn't bother me.
But if you don't like trains be sure to book a room at the front.
We didn't see any room cleaning during the 5 days we were there. Not sure what the reason is and apart from getting more toilet paper ourselves we didn't really bother about it. But if you want it you might need to ask for it specifically.
Also note that the swimming pool is very very small. I guess about 4 meters by 2 or 3 meters.
What I found strange, even though there was plenty of space to park, that at least 3 staff members almost permanently parked on 3 spots marked for disabled people. As there was lots of other space it's not an issue of space but of politeness and following rules. I don't like it when people park on clearly marked (roadmarks and a sign at each spot!) spaces for the disabled, and even more when it's the staff of the property. It doesn't affect my rating of the hotel, but I did find it a bit strange.
Good value near central La Baule.
A1854CKpauldon 26/06/2017 15:02The hotel is very clean and quiet, close to the sea and the railway station. However, our balcony faced east so no sunshine, noisy water heater at night in the bedroom, basic breakfast and the swimming pool is too small to swim in. Good relatively large bathroom.
It was fine!
Laura Con 13/09/2016 17:53It's clean, the pool is small compared to what the pictures suggest, but the place is nice. The staff are friendly and there's nothing really bad about it as such, just a few things that could be improved:
- there was no air-con in the room and no fan. It was hot!! We couldn't keep the window open because of mosquitos (water nearby) and also because the train tracks run directly behind the hotel - BE AWARE that the trains are very noisy!! (maybe this was just our room but I can only talk about my experience!)
- the extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom, so it smelt musty and damp in there
- there is no space in the bathroom for toiletries, nor a shelf/similar in the shower unit
- just a small thing but it would have been good to have more than 2.5 towels
- no tea or coffee making facilities
- iron and ironing board only from reception (just a little thing that might be nice to have in the room for the price, doesn't need to be a top spec one!)
As I said - it was fine, there really wasn't much to whinge about properly, just little things that would definitely raise it into a higher spec establishment that wouldn't go unnoticed.
I'd return!! But good to know these things before you get there. The room was a good size, the bed was comfy and the balcony was nice, it's only a 10 minute (max!) walk to the beach or to the high street.
Nice residence in La Baule
robertcaristanon 23/08/2016 17:24Very clean and nice location in La Baule. Close to everything. New building new bedding Very competent and helpful personal. You will enjoy the small kitchen and the balcony. With or without breakfast
Property is OK, but little things let it down
Hardergmon 22/04/2016 10:03The first thing you notice is that someone tried to drive through the security gate: it's all bent and out of shape and half closes off the driveway.
Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
The rooms are generally well proportioned.
The bathroom is spacious, but the basin or surrounds allows no space for toiletries.
It had a kitchenette, but there was no toaster, kettle or cups (other than for an espresso sized coffee). So if you wanted to make a cup of tea you were out of luck. The sink did not have a plug. There was a light to illuminate the kitchenette work area but there was no switch to turn it on (if it was attached to some other light switch, then the globe had blown).
The bed was comfortable.
Everything was clean and tidy.
The wireless internet (we were at the end of a corridor) was dreadful. Not only the signal was weak, but the capacity of their internet link for the establishment was well undersized. In frustration, I turned to my wireless internet and used my bandwidth so that I could get something done.
Some of the things were just thoughtlessness or small niggles, but having good internet is a must in hotels today.
