A place to sleep
Raymon Non 19/05/2017 13:26We needed a place to sleep while visiting family and sites in the vicinity. It is a dated hotel that is sorely in need of updating. The good thing is that there is free parking though the lot is a bit cramped and a large SUV or truck might have difficulty. The included breakfast was unremarkable and adequate. Staff were respectful and helped.
Adria always a good experience- (for now- avoid rooms on Northern Blvd side)
Robert Son 17/05/2017 18:25The Adria Hotel is a moderately priced hotel for the NY City area. Updated over the years, it has a friendly and helpful staff. Most are long-term so management must be doing somethings right. A hot breakfast is provided. It includes scrambled egg and either sausage, bacon or corned beef hash.
The hotel can get crowded since internet advertising pricing began- if you know travel dates check website for rates- they can vary.
The best and quietest rooms are on the north-east side of the building away from Northern Blvd, the elevator and function room- it can get noisy. Northern Blvd traffic and a broken sewer grate made sleep difficult on last visit.
Otherwise the Adria is a good place to stay when visiting the greater NYC area. Convenient to LIRR for trips to NYC.

bk6462on 17/05/2017 00:35very nice room, near transportation, great staff. room was very clean nice new tv, looked like a new bathtub and shower stall, staff was very professional . overall a great hotel at a great price, already told friends.

Hal44on 12/05/2017 00:34Came back after a long night in the city. Room had been opened and was unusable (bed stripped, towels gone.) I'd gotten back at 9:45 a.m., exhausted. Check out at 11. Called downstairs. Called downstairs again. Finally, a very harried chambermaid arrived to put sheets on the bed. Called downstairs again - can't you please just give me an empty room to lie down in? Please? No? Now 50 minutes left before check out. Called downstairs for the manager. He showed up ten minutes later. Gave me another room after I insisted it was an appropriate solution - but he couldn't be the least bit apologetic.
Be forewarned; their policy is to start cleaning rooms before contractual check-out time. That can be very inconvenient for customers.
Aged, needs updating
Hockeymom3946on 03/04/2017 02:31This hotel came recommended by St. John's University as a place to stay near the school vs. the city. The hotel was dated and moderately clean. Parking is very tight to get in and out. I would not recommend parking an SUV due to space restrictions.
