brucebr0on 17/07/2017 16:55The location near the train station was convenient, & the breakfast was generous, but otherwise my stay at this hotel was very unpleasant. The first room they put me in had a strong sewer-like stench, & drain-flies were infesting the shower. I insisted on changing rooms, & the second one was better, but that room, too, lacked air conditioning -- though if you open the window you get to hear the noise of the AC compressors for the public parts of the hotel that do have air conditioning.
pleasant one-night stay
bcsanderson 07/07/2017 15:23I stayed for one night to participate in a meeting being held at the hotel. The hotel is a short walk fro the main train station. The lobby is nice with comfortable seating. The staff are quite friendly. Internet is free inside the hotel with excellent bandwidth. My room on the top floor was spacious and comfortable. Coffee was good in the restaurant and the breakfast area is attractive and pleasant with an excellent variety of food. The meeting room behind the breakfast room was great for the meeting with excellent temperature control and great facilities for projection of slides and had good acoustics. The hotel served a special vegan lunch for me and the hotel was feather-free as I requested. The bed was comfortable and the bedding quite good. The shower had strong water.
The room is modern. I enjoyed the stay very much and would definitely stay here again. The one drawback is that, during the extraordinarily hot days I was in Mainz, the air conditioning in the room was inadequate to make the room sufficiently cool despite keeping the curtains closed all day.
Very good staff. An excellent breakfast. Everything clean and a very good location.

Nice hotel in a good location
DadaGoesAroundon 30/10/2016 03:24The staff is quite friendly, English speaking. Breakfast was ok; however, given almost no variation over the week and the price of 10 euros/day, was maybe not worthy. The hotel is clean and quiet (except some church bells at early hours, but not every day so it may have been a special occasion). The room I was in was small but sufficient for one person.
Nice place, poor location

We stayed here at the end of our trip along the Rhine by KDFerries, arriving quite late in the evening.
The hotel is modern and spotlessly clean, efficient and rather impersonal.
Our room was of average size, with a large fully opening window onto the side of the hotel. There was no air conditioning in our room. The bathroom was rather small with a very small shower cubicle with a great shower in it.
There are no facilities to make drinks in the room.
There is very good free Wi-Fi throughout the building.
Breakfast is good and plentiful.
Why three stars though? The hotel is very close to both the railway station and main roads - this means there is a lot of noise from outside, and in common with hotels near stations the area around the hotel is run down - walking to and from the hotel we were approached by beggars, and the park opposite the hotel felt very unsafe (and I'm quite a confident sort of person). On our arrival the receptionist was extremely frosty to the point of almost being unpleasant (but the other staff have been fine).
I would stay here again, but only because it's convenient for the DB station.
