A great find!

I stayed at this place after booking late for a bank holiday trip.
I was very skeptical but was pleasantly surprised.

The place is centrally located! Right at the station. I still had a very good nights rest and the trains didn't really disturb me.

It is very clean and comfortable. It actually looks like the pictures.

The staff is very helpful. I initially went to the wrong address but when I called, someone came and found me and took me to the place. They were also very good ant offering suggestions on where to go etc.

I would definitely recommend staying here.

Nice and convenient stay above the La Spezia central station.

The room is big and very clean, very good location, just above the La Spezia central station, Mc Donalds and walking distance to restaurants. The staff (owner actually as they run their own hotel) are very nice and helpful

Beautiful spacious rooms, right by the train station!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Dane whilst visiting Cinque Terre!

LOCATION (AMAZING FOR THOSE WITH A CAR)- Although we spent very little time in La Spezia itself, it was the perfect base for us to see Cinque Terre during our road trip! (I visit Cinque Terre almost every year and have learnt that it is pretty much an impossible place to drive a car and there is virtually NO parking anywhere, so we loved that there was safe and secure car parking right next to Casa Dane that we could leave our car in for a few days). The location of Casa Dane is fantastic, it's a small group of apartments directly above the main La Spezia Centrale train station, so it's very easy to find and get to by any mode of transport (everyone in town can point you to the train station if yogurt lost). We were pleased to find that we never heard any noise from trains. The apartments are several stories up, so it really wasn't an issue. Travelling from La Spezia to Riomaggiore (the prettiest part of Cinque Terre) takes 6 minutes on the train, and trains seem to depart every 15 minutes or so. From previous experience, even if you stay in one of the Cinque Terre towns, you will likely catch the train every day anyway between the five villages. Each of the villages is a few minutes from the next by train, or 1-2 hours of lovely, albeit, extremely steep hiking, so it doesn't matter if you stay in La Spezia or in Cinque Terre, you will probably use the trains! Even if you wanted to take a taxi, the roads are so winding and narrow, it takes about 30 minutes between each.

ROOMS- Our room was beautiful. It was modern, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and very spacious. We had plenty of space for two suitcases and room to move around. We had a window overlooking the translation and the hills beyond, not the most amazing view, but nice enough. The bathroom was very new and clean, the amenities were basic shampoo sachets which were restocked daily. There was a nice small desk and chair, and a little fridge which was handy. It was nice to have a kettle and hot drink options too. The only feature I felt was missing was a full length mirror, but the mirror in the bathroom was big enough really.

BREAKFAST- Because the apartments block doesn't have a large communal area other than the lobby/check in desk, breakfast is offered at several nearby cafes. We were given breakfast vouchers for each day of our stay. We were able to use them at the little stand at the train station, or the nicer sit-down cafe along the street. The vouchers entitle you to a typical Italian breakfast, sweet croissant (called brioche in Italy), bread, coffee, juice. We actually just took the croissants take-away and returned to our room to eat them with some fruit, while we got ready for the day.

WIFI- excellent connection in the rooms! We had to spend several hours making video calls for work and the wifi worked perfectly.

STAFF - Davide and Francesca at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. They helped us with maps, car parking, restaurants, trains, boats, champagne/wine glasses (so we could have a drink in our room), everything above and beyond.

Overall, I think Casa Dane was a great value for money stay. We couldn't find anything else in Cinque Terre that was anywhere near as nice for the same cost. Highly recommend, especially for those travelling with a car.

Beautiful refurbished rooms

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour and were very very impressed. In fact this was the nicest hotel we stayed in in the whole trip. The hotel is basically part of the train station so is perfectly located. Even though it's right next to the tracks it is very quiet. The rooms looked brand new and were perfectly clean. We highly recommend this property, particularly if you're traveling by train.

Excelent location to visit Cinqueterre and hgood stay.

Paolo and Maria on reception, very nice anď collaborative. Very good location, just above the Mc Donals of the Central Station.
Very nice room, well decorated, medium size for Italian standars, everything very clean.
Very nice decoration on corridors,
Two negative, third floor with no elevator, and breakfast at block and a half distante, and too basic, capuccino, one corneti and small orange juice, Very póor.
