What People are saying

Absolutely Horrendous. AVOID!!

Klp99on 12/10/2016 16:06

Spent 1 hour at the property waiting for them to arrive, tried calling, as did Booking.com but no answer. When she finally turned up to show us to our room, we were rudely told that it was our fault for not advising time of arrival- to which I pointed out the time on our confirmation.
Next- We had to walk approximately 6-8 minutes to a completely different address with a different hotel name (I don’t remember what it was). When we arrived, the woman didn’t have our keys, so we had to wait another 15 minutes for a guy on scooter to arrive. He was very apologetic, unlike the woman who was constantly shouting and shrugging.

When we arrived in our room, it was awful! Bare wires everywhere, the air conditioning had a flu which excited through a smashed window! The shower didn’t work, it trickled, the toilet seat was broken and the wifi was non-existent. It was an absolute nightmare and possibly the worst customer service i’ve ever received by, usually friendly, Italians.

AVOID! It’s a trick. The photos are of somewhere else, not where you’ll stay!

Terrible service, even worse room!

This was honestly the worst experience of a place to stay in Rome. I've visited the city several times and never had a problem before. I know Italian hotels are unlike anywhere else in the world and thought I knew what to expect with this one too.

So first the positives. Amazing location. About a 5 minute walk to the Vatican. Secondly the price. We paid approx £20 per person for a 6 bed apartment, great price for such a central location and so many people. End of positives.

Everything else was awful. The service was appalling. We said in our booking that we would arrive around 1 pm, OK we were delayed, beyond our control. When we arrived, there was nobody at the address. We called the number got no answer, called again and were just told that they couldn't hear us and they hung up. Proceeded to call again, 5 times in total and no answer. So we called Booking.com, who we booked through. As we were on the phone a lady appeared and just said 'Casa Giada' fortunately we speak Italian. She didn't make it clear that she worked there, so we said 'yeah, there's nobody there though', her reply was 'of course there's nobody there I'm here'. She claimed check in at 1 pm was not possible and that we should have made an appointment, however we were not advised of this when we made the booking or after. When we asked why our calls weren't answered she just replied 'I'm travelling on my scooter, I can't talk to you on that'.

We knew our apartment was in a different building and presumed it would be close, but this was a 5 minute walk away, not much, but when you have been travelling and lugging cases around Rome, it's not what you want. When we finally arrived at our building to be told the lady didn't have the keys and we'd had to wait. So we waited and almost 10 more minutes later he arrived. Fortunately he was much more pleasant.

The apartment we were shown to, had a totally different name to Casa Giada and when you search for it on here, it doesn't come up.

So when we finally got into the apartment the real disasters started. Electrics were hanging out of the walls, some plugs were pushed so far into the walls, they could not be used. Others were covered in sellotape, so we didn't dare touch them. Bathroom had no lock, shower was held up with duct tape and trickled 9 trickles of water. The flue off the air con unit was through a hole that had been cut in the window, but the tube was squashed, so the air was flowing back into the room. The air con unit was noisy and we couldn't leave it on and sleep at the same time. The glass around the hole was cracked. (See photos)

The floors were filthy, if you didn't put flip flops you needed to wash you feet again within 30 seconds. The dust under the bed was unbelievable.

Wifi was slow and useless if more than 2 people tried to connect at the same time. Not great when the apartment sleeps 6.

All in all a total disaster, fortunately we only stayed for 1 night and would definitely not return. I would not recommend this place to anyone, rude staff, dirty floors and faulty plugs.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

Noisy airconditioner could not sleep

It is located in quite a nice area of the Vatican in a street good for shopping too. We had to call a phone number on the door and then someone came over to open for us. The property itself needs a lot of attention. First of all beds are like sofa beds very uncomfortable. Pillows too soft. Bed linen had my doubts if it was washed or not. The airconditoner was one of those portable ones which was attached to the window very very noise we could not sleep. I had to steal the electric fan from the hallway and use it in the room to be able to get some rest. The minute you open up the water a huge sound comes from the pump pumping water out into the system. Shower itself was leaking water out of everywhere except from where it was supposed to. I could hardly get in and out of the shower - a very small room which also has a bidet which makes it even more crammed. The tiles need replacing as most of them were broken wobbly and mismatched. We were also not given a receipt for the tax charge per person. The bedroom had a double bed and a single bed for my son and there were no lights on the ceiling only lampshades. The shower can do with a very good clean as it had black marks all around it.

AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE

The worst hotel experience...in the world. One day before I was meant to be checking in at the hotel I received an e-mail from them saying there was some kind of issue with the booking. ONE DAY. Of course, after e-mailing them back I heard nothing in response and my phone calls went unanswered too. Not ideal considering I'd be flying out to Italy 12 hours later.

On the check in day I turned up with my girlfriend to find the hotel dead with no-one around to ask. Called them and someone (finally) picked up, and then a clueless man turned up 20 minutes later...his response upon seeing my check in details..."we have given the room to someone else." NOT what you want to hear, especially as he wouldn't give us a reason as to why this happened. Angry wouldn't begin to describe how I was feeling in the hot, sweaty and dusty corridor outside the hotel as I was trying to find another hotel to stay at via hotels.com. When the clueless man realised I was on the phone trying to book another hotel he desperately offered me ONE NIGHT at the hotel, and then the rest of the stay at a different location nearby. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

The hotel had been booked with hotels.com and I had received confirmation e-mails from them a number of times prior to me leaving for Rome. THANKFULLY they managed to find me another hotel at the same price, with a full refund in the process. But that's not the point. The point is this hotel screwed me over big time and my first day in Rome was totally WASTED trying to sort out this mess.

We had a glance at the hotel room we were meant to stay in and the room was dirty and nowhere near as clean as any of the photos make it out to be.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. It looks cheap and in a great location but in reality it is one big SCAM.

Avoid Like The Plague

Booked this hotel for my son.
Paid on my card.
Confirmation received of booking.
He flys to Rome.
He arrives at the Hotel to be informed that they have given the room to someone else because of 'payment irregularities'.
Total bollocks. Over £3,000 on my card.
Had the balls ache of finding new hotel.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BOOK THIS HOTEL.
