Great for a stopover

Spent a night here after a drive from Kruger National Park before the flight to Victoria Falls A great spot as it's really close to the Airport Had dinner here and the food was great Really helpful friendly staff and nothing a problem They are willing to store luggage and there's a shuttle to the airport

We had a one-night stay here after flying nonstop from NY, and we enjoyed the quiet, well-appointed rooms, the friendly staff and the delicious dinner. The grounds are pretty and well-maintained, and although it was too chilly to use the pool, we enjoyed sitting nearby and relaxing in the lounge chairs. Lunch and breakfast were good - not as spectacular as dinner was - but good. The rooms are large and clean - we didn't like the carpets, but the beds and bathrooms were great. We especially appreciated the staff's offer to drive me to a pharmacy when I needed medicine for my son - such a comfort during a stressful moment. Thank you! One note would be to have the airport transfer ready when guests arrive - we had to wait about 15 minutes for the car to arrive to take us to the hotel. Not a very big deal, just a small suggestion. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Spectacular Boutique Bed and Breakfast

The African Rock Hotel is phenomenal! My husband and I stayed here for one night since we were traveling to Port Elizabeth for a safari for three days. The pictures on this site and their website don't do this place justice. This hotel was immaculate, the food was divine and the hospitality was wonderful. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again when we return to Joburg.

Amazing rooms and dining

If the rooms and hospitality weren't off the charts, the restaurant and chef work magic. The springbok was divine, and the wine pairings were spot on. We were sad to only have one night here before we left in the morning. It was lovely.

An Oasis

This is the most wonderful hotel with the most amazing staff, rooms and delicious freshly cooked food by an incredible chef, Joyce. The hotel feels like you are staying with friends and nothings is too much trouble. We celebrated our anniversary and they certainly pulled out all the stops for us. The small spa is well worth visiting with some lovely treatments. We stayed for one night before going on safari and then another night on the way back, it wasn't long enough and we hope to return. Otti and Zelda have a ethos that flows through all the way through their staff. It was such a delight and keep up the good works.
