Nice
Dejan Von 21/12/2016 21:10Everything was great, only minus was quality of bed, they would have to purchase new ones...Close to many interesting places, restaurants, wineries, shopping areas, not far from seaside-Grado...Great dairy products, nice service, I would add few more points: italian espresso during breakfast, warm bread in the morning, which goes greatly with super cheeses etc
Stop by for cheese tasting
Doymoon 09/02/2016 15:46This beautiful little organic cheese farm is well worth a look. They are meticulous in their processes. It was very interesting to see their production, starting with their cow herd. The cheese tasting was beautifully presented. Of course, all the cheeses were fresh and delicious. We're so glad we stopped!
Fantastic B&B run by a wonderful family
RH10101on 23/09/2015 20:41My husband and I recently stayed here for 2 nights. From the moment we arrived we couldn't have been made to feel any more welcome. The room was lovely and rustic and provided a great base for our days there. The family were kind enough to lend us a couple of bicycles so we used these to explore the local area. It was only a few km cycle into town so really easy to get around.
The breakfast was incredible - fresh yoghurt, cheese, bread, meat and cake. Virtually all made on site and utterly delicious.
We also got to see the cheese making and got to experience mozzarella and ricotta within minutes of being made - wow.
We could have stayed much longer in this lovely B&B and will definitely be back!
The Best Bed & Breakfast / Farm Stay You Could Ever Imagine!
HappyTravelerFoodieon 11/07/2015 13:28More than a week after returning to the States from our trip to Italy we are still talking about our stay at Borg da Ocjs and the unparalleled hospitality we received from Beppino and Fabio and the entire Zoff family. Working for the Vetri Family restaurant group in Philadelphia, I had been introduced to several purveyors and contacts to visit in Friuli to include the Nonino, Venica & Venica, Scarbolo, and La Subida. We chose to stay at Borg da Ocjs because of our desire to stay on a working dairy farm. The experience was one of a lifetime. We were greeted with sparkling Battistutta wine (produced less than 400 meters away), fresh saloumi and an array of delicious cheese. The room was spectacular and the entire house was meticulously clean. We walked to the adjacent farm (separated by a large garden, towering sunflowers, a fence and enough distance if you were wondering about the aroma of fresh dairy cows). Beppino gave us a full tour of the milking and care-taking of the herd which were the healthiest and most pampered I've ever seen on a farm. We spent three nights on the farm and walked over to visit the cows each morning before our day trips throughout the region. Each morning for breakfast we were greeted with the wonderful smell of freshly brewed coffee, and both savory and sweet hand-made hearty breakfast. We had an entire spread of cheeses, meats, fresh yogurt, jams, and an amazing sweet that rotated each day (apple pie, chocolate pie, and ricotta cherry cheesecake). The farm is located in the heart of Friuli so all of the best wineries are within a 15-20 minute drive. We also took day trips to Ljubljana, Trieste, and down the Slovenian and Croatian coast to Pula. The last morning we were given a detailed overview and allowed to watch the entire process as they made mozzarella from the previous night's milking. Additionally, Borg da Ocjs is very LGBT-friendly, and they treated my partner and I with the utmost care and attention. I urge you to stay here, or at least stop by their store and purchase some of their fresh dairy, cheese, and other farm products in their store if you are in the region.
Beautiful farm stay
daniela62on 05/09/2014 17:01We have stayed at this agriturismo before. We stayed for 4 nights visiting family nearby. We had a hire car which we could park out front. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Also with air conditioning which is a plus. The breakfasts are the highlight, fresh milk from the cows, yogurt, cheese, salami, prosciutto and a different cake every morning made with local produce by Patrizia. They are passionate about their cheeses and are happy to show you around the farm. Seeing the content cows then the way the cheese is made it's no wonder the cheese taste so good.
