Excellent spot for relaxation
Ruth Con 20/06/2017 21:08We arrived with a group, staying here to go to the MotoGP. We had one apartment booked and 3 double rooms. We were welcomed by Elisa who explained everything to us. She was kind enough to provide us with towels for the pool, free of charge. We also got a bottle of the house wine, made on the estate, as a welcome. The apartment was good, well equipped, but sadly no kettle, which meant we were having to do this in a pan on the hob - bit of a safety issue. The fridge was bigger than normal, which was useful. Both bedrooms were a good size with plenty of storage. The bathroom was shared, with a door from each bedroom, slight problem was that you could secure yourself in the bathroom, so had to make plenty of noise to let people know you were in there.
We were booked in the restaurant on our first night - 9 of us, plus others that were also staying. They managed to run out of beer and had no vegetables to offer us with the meal. We would have expected a bit better planning from their side. We were a bit disappointed by this, but the meal that we did have was nice.
It was also a shame that there was no bar available, you had to make sure you'd been and bought anything you might want to drink before you arrived, as there was no shop nearby. They did sell beer at the reception, but it was very very expensive. They missed a trick here, particularly as the weekend we were staying there were lots of people around who would have welcomed a cool drink in a social atmosphere.
The location was excellent, with great views and very peaceful.
The fireflies were a highlight - really pretty little things when it went dark, like little fairies - very special. Internet was available but it didn't reach the apartment we were staying in, we had to be by the pool or the restaurant to use it.
The pool was lovely with good seating and a shower and toilet.
Moto GP Mugello
Ian Bon 13/06/2017 21:19wanting a place local to the Mugello Circuit was nigh on impossible, and found this place a bit further out of the town, so I booked this Hotel/B&B on the internet after looing at a couple of reviews not really knowing what we would get, well, what we got was superb....... the place is off the beaten track, but when you get there you will be blown away by the views of the Tuscan Hills in the Chianti Region. we were here for the Moto GP Round of Mugello, so we are bikers, and found that other bikers from the UK were here too, along with other travellers here for other ventures. The place is a really good find, great rooms, great location, and an amazing Restaurant too. we wre met by Elisa the Hotel receptionist who was very welcoming and pleasant during our stay. (2nights) All the staff were pleasant too, including the Restaurant Waiter and Waitress (who made me laugh) sorry I didn't get their names. A must if in the area. Oh, and an outside Pool too!
Lovely stay in a beautiful place
Gry Sara Won 13/10/2016 08:34This place was so good for my zen.
So quiet and peaceful. The staff was the nicest, and good local food, the breakfast could be better.
We stayed 3 nights, me and my colleagues, ( we are all chefs) just talking, walking and eating. We cleared our minds, and went home with a head full of new ideas for our business. That was the only goal and it was fulfilled.
Fabulous location
mattman2014on 02/09/2016 19:47We found this spot was absolute bliss compared to the bustle of the cities of Rome and Florence. It was quiet, with a wonderful pool overlooking the Tuscan hills. We enjoyed the wine-tasting talk onsite. Elisa in reception was very welcoming too. Most nights we ate at the local restaurant a stones throw away from the 17th century lodge where we were based. The food was good and the kids loved Hugo, the owner's dog. We were here a full week and never struggled for things to do: we visited Lucca (a must); Florence; and Greve. It is a real haven that we fully recommend. Our rooms also had kitchenette facilities which we used on occasion as you can eat your meal at tables overlooking the hills just outside the lodge.
Charming visit
Sue Bon 26/09/2015 17:57We have just returned from 4 nights. Scenery and location is stunning but a bit remote for the evening apart from eating on site or getting a takeaway pizza from main square in Rufina. We trained into Florence from Scopeti which was excellent and drove to Seina and Arezzo. Elisa in reception was so helpful along with great travel trials from Sonia in the restaurant. Loved Hugo. Breakfast was very uninspiring.
