What People are saying

An ideal place for a quiet holiday

This Bed and Breakfast is very well located in a quiet environment not far from Pistoia. Lucca, Pisa, San Gimigniano, Volterra, San Marcello and the seaside are all within easy reach by car and so are th mountains (San Pellegrino and Abate). The hotel was recently renovated and is located in pleasant, green surroundings. No problems with parking either. The rooms are excellent with everything you need and more. I would even say quiet chique in a very pleasant Tuscan style, but still modern. It blends in the older furniture and surroundings very well with modern facilities. During the renovation a lot of attention was given to details. There is no fridge in the room, but there is a shared one in the tv lounge near the rooms. The soap, shampoo and shower-gel are all from the house and excellent quality (biological as well). The breakfast is wonderful with excellent local jam, honey, bread and fresh croissants, cake and yoghourt. Cheese, salami and prosciutto also available. The coffee-service is superb and there is a choice of local fruit juices. The hotel does not serve lunch or breakfast but there is a very good local restaurant within walking distance. And if you want more choice, Pistoia is a very nice little town (especially in the evening) with lots of restaurants. It is only 12 kms away.

What makes the place special is Marco, who will advise you on where to go and will even write out itineraies for you. His enthusiasm and dedication are very touching.

The hotel also sells its own olive oil, soap, jam, honey and wine at reasonable prices.

If you are looking for something that goes beyond the usual tourist 'traps' this is a excellent place from which to explore Tuscany.

Pleasant staying in the PPrateste-Pistoian low hills

I've been here for a weekend in November with my wife. The front desk manager, Marco, provided us a lot of useful information. He is very kind. The place is brand new, even if the house is very old but restored recently ... maybe too new: it still smell of rubber.
The room is large and with the essential furniture in Tuscany style.
Just a couple of reminders. One about the breakfast. It is typical Italian breakfast without cheese, eggs and cold cuts. Maybe when the kitchen will be operative ...
The second about the housekeeping that didn't work on Saturday. But it is also November.
It is a very nice place but it needs some improvements to reach the best quality-price rate. You are on the good way !

Classic Tuscan venue, food and wine. Great service too!

Marco's new management, Martha's great cooking and the location and size if the buildings (an old vine press complex) made this a fantastic stay. We spent 5 days cycling from Montale. It proved to be a good base being slightly out of town and so quieter and more spacious. It proved easy to get into Florence and Pistoia. The accomodation building appears to have been refurbished recently. Dining on the main building under a fresco with their own wine in hand and four courses of Martha's cooking was a treat. Marco could not do enough for us. I checked out the family room with a view to bringing my family here and it looked good.
