What People are saying

Awful!

SueCliftByrneon 26/06/2016 13:31

The room was small and permanently dark. The place is run down and dirty. Room cleaning didn't exist. The 'concierge' was almost never at reception and it was difficult to find him. Breakfast was a joke - warm fruit juice out of plastic bottles, commercial toasted bread in packets, a croissant if you were lucky. Via Roma is a VERY noisy street, even by Italian standards. I was charged 75 Euros a night for this dump. Don't go there. I soon found somewhere at 70 Euros a night, next to the Duomo, that was fantastic.

un bellisimo posto

a beautiful place perfect position with many bars and restaurants around where you can have delicious dinners not to mention the breakfast prepared by Mrs. Elena who can also guide you well in beautiful places! Thank you for gentleness and kindness of the staff! We will definitely return!

Could be better

Located at the third floor of a building, there’s no lift but the staircase is not steep so we found no difficulty in carrying our heavy bags upstairs. The guy who runs the place looked a bit serious. He didn’t speak much English but tried his best to communicate with us patiently. The room was clean but not big and so was the shower stall. Shower head needed to be fixed. There were stalls down the street (we stayed on weekend). Some noise heard while they were opening business in the morning. It’s a good alarm clock though. Breakfast was not provided but we were given coupons to have it in a café nearby. After all, considered the price we paid during high season, I thought it’s the best deal in town.

Not a serious place!

We made a reservation at this place, at least two months in advance , in order to visit Alba during the International Fair of Truffles, in October. We had the concern to get a hotel close to the Fair, in downtown Alba.
Arriving there, after having crossed the Atlantic Ocean, in a 11h30 trip, we were informed that our bedroom was occupied, and we would have the option to be transfered to the City of Bra, 15km from Alba, in another hotel of the same owner.
Not to become things worse , we had to accept this laçk of respect. The owner sends people from one hotel to another, considering the excess of demand during the Fair.

Very basic hotel

I booked this hotel on Booking.com, and got there to find they didn't seem to be expecting me. I stayed there for 2 nights. The room was very basic, but fine, although there were a couple of broken bits in the bathroom - no cover over sink plughole so had to be careful not to loose anything down there, and shower head wouldn't stay up. The location was very good, and it was the cheapest I could find online at short notice, so I was happy to stay there. Unfortunately when I checked out, there was a misunderstanding about the price - they charged me significantly more than I had booked the room for online. If they're not checking their online bookings, which seems to be the case, then this would explain how that happened. When I showed them the booking confirmation and price, the guy reimbursed me the difference in cash immediately (I'd paid on my credit card before I'd realised the error), and it seems to have been a genuine mistake, but he wasn't apologetic at all, he seemed quite put out by it and it was a very uncomfortable moment. What's more the price they were intending to charge seemed far too much for a room of the standard they were offering. I think I'd pay more for a better place if I had to next time, I wouldn't stay here again.
