Perfect...If You're In To Contracting a Disease

Unfortunately, my flight was cancelled out of LaGuardia and needed accommodations for the night. Of the "recommended" hotels at the airport, this was the only one that had availability. Checked in late night, inspected the room, and thought everything seemed ok. When I woke up very early the next morning, I found mouse droppings around the room. Additionally, the entire hallway/stair system of the hotel had this awful smell, a combination of gross body smell and cigarettes. Also, the door to the room was pretty poor and I didn't feel secure at all. Walls were also very thin as I could hear everything from the neighboring rooms. Calls to the manager have not been returned. I'm still itching from thinking about this awful experience. Can't believe this cost $170!! Stay away!!!

I was saved

Pablo Pon 17/04/2017 17:20

On 03/14 2017, I was on my way home to Dominican Republic from San Antonio, Texas
Flight was via JFK, but it was cancelled due to the weather
I was able to change the flight plans via La Guardia
At 12:00 the airport was empty but, despite all hotels around were sold out, I manage to talk with Mr. Andrew Sohn at the Airway Inn hotel
When I get there over 3 feet of snow makes me walk from the street to the lobby.
That was the moment when I realize I forgot that during my call I did NOT make a reservation, nevertheless Mr Sohn saved me by arranging a room for me to stay till next day. Due to the severe weather I will always be grateful to him.

This should be cheaper

This is a small hotel in Queens NY that is more for convenience, not the place that I would reserved for my Honey.

In this type of business they need to pay more attention to the rooms they are renting to the visitors.

Am not sure who they're catering for but one thing they need to know is that for what they are giving they need to "Lower Their Rate".

Stop for an overnight layover

Scott Lon 13/03/2017 00:23

Prices for hotels on the night of our layover were extraordinary high. We paid $220 for this hotel and were not overly impressed.

The staff were nice enough and helpful with our questions. Checkin was a breeze. We were put into room 204, just near the elevator. Before walking in we could smell someone smoking - not a good start. We opened the door and were greeted to a skunky smell coming from the bathroom - immediately shut then door. The smell made my son a bit nauseous through the night.

The bed was clean and fairly comfortable. The carpets - not so much. Looked like they had not been vacuumed in days.

Towels were lacking in the bathroom with only two medium towels given to us for use.

Being close to the elevator, there was noise in the hallway all night and she walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbors conversations like you are in the room with then. Luckily there were no late night one on one activities to get through.

At check in we asked for a shuttle to take us to the airport the next morning at 8am (for a 10:30 international flight). At checkout we were told the the driver would not be there until 8:30. We agreed to wait and went to Dunking Donuts across the street for coffee.

Returning at 8:30 driver is still 15-20 minutes out so the manager called us a taxi and the hotel paid the the short trip to Laguardia.

Overall an OK place for a last minute pickup but over prices. With the exceptions of the smells this would be reasonable at $125.

Lower your expectations

EXNYER001on 29/10/2016 15:52

Our plans changed last minute and we had to stay over night. Our flight out of LGA was scheduled for tha next day so we needed to stay close. We tried to call nearby hotels-like marriott and holiday inn-but they did not answer.

This hotel would not be our first choice but they answered the phone and sent a shuttle right away to get us and bring us back. Fast food resturants are a short walk away and the staff worked hard to make up for the hotels short commings.

The price is too much for the room, BUT the location and convience makes this a good "Port in a Storm."
