Comfortable hotel in a quiet location
winnieCoevordenon 08/08/2012 12:55We had a nice room with a large shared balcony. The room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom had plenty of space for toiletbags etc. The TV was small and we found it difficult to find the stations.
Breakfast was very good, but the evening meals could have been better and certainly warmer.
The location is ideal, very near to the centre of Willingen and situated next to a park. Dutch owners.
Poor hygiene, lack of staff, expensive, won't be staying again
groovybaby1on 07/09/2011 10:21I was disappointed with this hotel!
Cons: The room was small, the TV tiny (ca. 14 inch, so not much bigger than the light switch) and all channels were not tuned properly. No Wifi, the shared balcony had not been cleaned for ages, with cigarette ends, broken roof felting, glass and other bits lying around on the floor. At breakfast, there was one bread roll left and it took a long time to get more (a staff member went to the bakery). There was a hot plate with no food in it a space for boiled eggs but none available. None of the plates were cleared away as the only person working it seemed was the staff member at reception who also did the breakfast service.
Pros: On the plus side, the location of this hotel right next to the park which is very nice. You can also easily walk down to Willingen High Street. From the outside it also looks good and I imagine it would be nice to sit outside in their cafe. The 2 staff members we did meet were very friendly but just seemed overworked.
However, having paid £96 for my room, this hotel was a big disappointment! I won't be staying here again I'm afraid.
