Fantastic location!
53Sue2014on 11/08/2016 19:37What a little find! This was a great studio apartment, with unusually two double beds. Hossep our host, was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment was well appointed and within 50 metres of a water stop, with a direct boat to both the train station and the Airport.
To get to St Marks Square was a 15 minute leisurely, but interesting walk. There were some lovely restaurants ants supermarkets within a 10 minute walk away. The apartment was clean and everything was in very good condition. A perfect stay with no down side!
Best in class
Jeremy Hon 08/07/2016 20:20I am giving Al Campanile 5 stars not because it compares with the great hotels of Europe, but because it's best in class -- if you like the airbnb experience, where you stay in an apartment with kitchen and and space to move around but without fancy hotel prices, then this is worth 5 stars. We stayed in the Beige apartment, with three adults and one child. It's a duplex. The location is in the Cannaregio district, which Venetians will tell you is the most authentic, as it's the district with the fewest tourists and the most regular residents. As such, it's a bit off the beaten track, and you'll need to travel on the vaporetto for around 35-40 minutes to get to San Marco and the main attractions. That said, we love Cannaregio for its quiet, its winding alleys and little trattorias, and we would recommend this district to anyone that abhors the maddening crowds of Venice. The rooms were spotless and well appointed. Spacious downstairs bedroom with a pull out cot where our daughter slept, plus a loft for another goes (which we did not use) -- and then a second floor with spacious bedroom and its own bathroom and shower. Hossep, the property manager, is a mensch. Very kind, very responsive, and extremely helpful. We needed to visit the hospital for some medical treatment while there, and Hossep was indispensable in helping us find our way. Bottom line, we will definitely come back and highly recommend this property to others.

Almost heaven in Venice
Shaun Son 07/05/2016 18:25I titled this as Almost Heaven in Venice because these apartments should only be available for the rich and famous, no everyone shoild enjoy them.
We have dreamt about coming back to Venice but not in a hotel, we wanted to live like the locals and aquired one of these apartments.
The apartments are 50 feet from the Orto ferry terminal but situated just behind other buildings so they are so secluded.
Entering the property through its long rose gardens one would feel an inspiration of heaven amd solitude.
The apartments would impress anyone, they hide behind venice walls but inside modern and italian design. Very spacious and all of the mod cons.
Easy walking distance to other parts of venice and main shopping area.
This includes at less three supermarkets, including one specialising in gluten free food. About two bridges and 200 metres from the apartments.
In a short walking distance butchers, fish traders, bread and vegetables. Yes one can live like a local.
When we return to Venice we will stay here again.
Our disappointment and this is something the owner needs to address is tne matress on the bed is old and needs replaced and the stove only had two of three stove rings working. Contacting the owner was difficult and we would have raised thesenissues personally.
Other than that, this is a place that you could just enjoy lazing around and living like a local.
Aaah, Venice
Leahandcoon 13/01/2016 08:25We spent 2 nights at Al Campanile as a family of 4 and if we hadn't had train tickets out of town would still be there! Hossep was extremely helpful & prompt in all prior communication, allowed us to check in early when we arrived on the water bus with our large bags, and the apartment was 5 star in all respects. It was very quiet & peaceful, literally a 1 minute walk to the water bus stop, and walking distance to the Grand Canal (maybe 30 minutes) - the tourist area was very crowded and far less pleasant, the canals closer to Al Campanile are a nicer way to experience Venice, only locals and plenty to see. We stayed in Apartment Nero, our adult kids slept upstairs & Hossep was very accommodating regarding extra bedding, towels etc as well as patiently providing us with lots of useful local information. The bathroom was wonderful - a BATH which was well used after long days walking, and a washing machine! All fittings throughout were of the highest quality. Easy walk to supermarket & a well equipped kitchen. Hossep, you are delightful and so is Al Campanile - we wished we could have stayed longer. Venice, you did not disappoint.
