A few improvements and it would be fantastic

I wish I could give a better review of this place, but because of the bed being uncomfortable and the air conditioning noisy and unable to cool the room I just can't.

The good:

Central, right on the main square. You get to enjoy san gimignano after the day trippers have left which is extremely special.

You can drive and drop off your bags before parking or park in P4 (€15/day) and take the elevator up and walk for 15 mins.
P1 is €6 and a bus ride up if you'd rather. (Prices June 2017).

It's hidden a little but look at the cafe on right in the corner with your back to the award winning gelato shop, and it's just left of there.

The building is stunning and the rooms decorated beautifully.
The shower built into to the arch was exceptionally pretty and had the best view I've had from a shower (and a good shower, hot and powerful).

Hair drier and basic soap provided.

Mini fridge in the wardrobe was good too.

The room was a good size and clean.

We had no issue with noise with outside or reception.

Check in was limited with times 3-7pm only and limited staffed hours, which was fine for us but worth knowing.

Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.

The bad:

The bed was just so uncomfortable.

The air conditioning was extremely noisy which we would have put up with if it had cooled the room but it wasn't powerful enough.

I'm sad that I can't recommend this place unless they replace the mattress and the sort out the air conditioning (in summer months) which is such a shame as it could be very special.

Lovely second time around

Recently returned to this lovely three room BNB. Just lovely. And the location is just fabulous. We love how quiet and romantic San Gimignano becomes in the evening after the bus crowds leave for the day.

Spacious room in ideal location

We recently stayed in the four person room in this hotel. It was lovely - very large, and our teen girls each had their own bed. The bathroom was huge and clean too. The hotel is right on the main square but very quiet as the room looked out over the countryside. It was perfect to stay right in the heart of San Gimignano which was so much more peaceful in the evenings and mornings. There is a cafe right below which has breakfast pastries. The staff easily arranged a check in and check out time and were very friendly and helpful.

We booked Al Pozzo dei Desideri for two weeks, from March 17-31, 2017, in the Vallata Room, which had views to the countryside.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, in San Gimignano. Such a wonderful, historic, little village. We plan to visit, again, in August of this year.
As for Al Pozzo, we could not have chosen a better place for our first time in San Gimignano. Located on the Piazza della Cisterna, we had easy access to the entire village. The view to the outside, from our room was stunning, especially in the morning light.
The room was spacious, clean, and renovated in recent years, it seems. Al Pozzo is small, with only 3 rooms, so it was quiet, virtually all of the time.
Limited staff, for limited periods of time, which was not an issue for us. Always friendly and interested in how our day was.
Parking is outside the walls, but you can drive inside long enough to drop off bags.
We loved it there.

Amazing place

Lovely accommodation. Room only but this suited us. The building has only three rooms for let. Right in the main square. Views from our room on first floor was spectacular. Would recommend this place. Lady at desk was very helpful and made our stay enjoyable.
