What People are saying
Hot room, cold shower
Clif Ton 15/07/2017 17:14People call it old world charm but the reality is just the old part applies. Place has a lot of good but as much bad to even the score.
Shower was moldy, I cleaned large area where AC drains into it just because I couldn't stand to see it while showering. Bathroom is very hot due to it being Jul and AC not sufficient for the room more less bathroom too.
Floors are floors my wife says but I advise wearing house shoes not white socks while there.
AC never really cooled room, it made it bearable but never cool. The maid turns it off when she cleans the room so make sure you pop in after lunch to turn it back on if it's hot outside.
B-fast was typical nothng fancy, but good. B-fast is eaten at a large shared table. We had one day with friendly people, one day with a couple who weren't pleasant, and one all alone.
Had to leave the TV unplugged because outlet it used was hanging from wall and would make electrical noises when weight of plug hung from it.
Owner was very nice, location is great, and overall we enjoyed our stay.
Central location but room needs a upgrade
justloveholidays7_13on 04/07/2017 21:13We stayed in Lucca for one night. The B&B was in a great location in the centre of the walled old town. There was a lift to the top floor where the accommodation was. We were greeted by the owner who was very pleasant and friendly. The breakfast room/reception was beautiful with a fresco ceiling.
Our room was an ok size with a double bed and unexpectedly a small kitchen with fridge and sink. The room was traditional which is in keeping with the building but needed improving. The bathroom looked fairly new with a fantastic shower but the shower cubicle needed re grouting. Our main concern in our room were the electrics which needed inspecting as they were coming away from the wall in some places. We forgot to mention it to the owner before departure.
Breakfast was very good so no faults there.
Not sure if I would stay again as everything was great except the room.
Great host, well located.
Ian Hon 18/05/2017 19:36Al Tuscany is in the heart of Lucca, and is only one minute walk from the church of San Giovanni. There they have a concert, of about one and a half hours every night, of the works of of Lucca's favorite son Giacomo Puccini. It's a great event even if you're not an opera buff, and very reasonably priced. All in all a great stay... Lucca is a mesmerising place and your host at Al Tuscany will suggest some fine restaurants too!!
Delightful
f700gson 08/05/2017 18:14We booked at the last minute due to a double booking at our intended stay. We were very lucky to find this place for three nights-we were given two very spacious rooms with a good bathroom. The decor is in keeping with the character of the building, and we were thrilled with how comfortable the bed was, how spacious the bathroom, and the shower was out of this world!
Our host Claudio was absolutely delightful and very helpful and attentive. It's in a great location, and although there are many stairs ( in keeping with all our other abodes in Italy) there is a lift which was very helpful for our luggage. Claudio makes a great coffee, and also took care of our laundry.
We couldn't have been more grateful for such a lovely attentive host.
Great location but not the best rooms
Amir Pon 26/10/2016 12:45The place is in a great old towering building and ia right next to the center.
But the room itself was not properly ventilated and it was very small and crowded. The shower was quite small as well. Not highly recommended.
