Just returned from a week stay with my husband and two teenager daughters. Lovely hotel, spacious rooms and very clean. Food excellent and lots of choice. Very relaxed around the pool, could get sunbeds very easily, there were still empty sunbeds at 10am! Staff were lovely and friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Air Con great. Would definitely return to this hotel.
Second year in the Alagoamar fantastic 10 days from the time when we arrived the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful .We have a one bedroom apartment with a pool view plenty of room and well equipped with all we needed room was cleaned every day and towels also changed. The big difference this year is that Alagoamar have joined up with the Paladim hotel next door.Food served all day good quality and at a reasonable price also entertainment every night. Supermarket across the road and 15 minutes to old town and strip. We booked a few trips and again reception where fantastic. The pool area is nice and plenty of sun beds the only down side is group's of lads kicking football with no regard for young children this could be easily sorted out with a bit of pool supervision. Having said that we as a family will definitely be going back next year thanks to all the staff from receptionist... bar staff and the maids for making this a lovely place to enjoy our holidays👍👍
Stayed for a week in August two adults one 2 year old.
Before arriving I contacted the hotel and paid an extra about 110 euro to have a pool view room. So when we got there we was given a pool view studio room on the top floor in the middle of the hotel. The room was good nothing special the bathroom was probably a bit dated but clean, The door that divides the hall way into the kitchen area didn't close because the metal on the door frame was catching on the door. There was no inside lock on the room door and my two year old could pull on the handle and open the door from the inside that meant we needed to put something to block the inside of the door. I never complained about this because we probably had one of the best views from the balcony (we could just see the sea over the roof tops)
The safe costs 2.50 euro per day plus a 10 euro deposit. The wifi is only in the lobby area, The place is kept clean and the pool area is good for families not lots of rules about the pool or inflatables which I think is good its more fun. We did find the pool on the side of Alagoamar had a few groups of lads and I didn't think it was that type of hotel, so we spent more time over by the sister hotel pool next door that had a few more families. We was involved in a car accident being in the back of a taxi coming back from the water park when I asked one of the reception staff for advice she didn't really want to know not the best customer service. the room cleaners was good didn't miss a day. The woman on reception on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th nights was very polite and had good customer service manner was helpful especially when the lifts kept breaking down. And she did tell a group of German lads to not act up in the lobby which was good because it meant I didn't need to. bar and restaurant staff was nice, The location is good probably about 15 to 20 min walk to the old town and beach the shopping centre is over the road and there's a nice cake and take away restaurant on the corner.
(If you want the best sangria go to the old town to bar sangria)
All in all we had a good holiday the baby enjoyed the pool good atmosphere around the pool (on the palladium side anyway) no moaning you can a good holiday here!
Fantastic holiday here last year, not a single problem apart from wifi but hey ho , oh and the old pool but that seems same Any where in albufeira , not s problem great for cooling off , ideal location bang in middle off old and new town )strip ) beautiful place ,
We have just got back from alagoamar hotel apartments. When we first arrived I was very pleasantly surprised by the apartment. It was much bigger and nicer than I had been expecting. The pool area was lovely and the food in the bar was really nice, especially the food from the BBQ. The location was great, right next to the supermarket which was good for stocking up on water, snacks and breakfast items. The walk to the beach was a bit longer than I expected but it is a nice walk and you can always get the little land train back for a couple of euros which is what we did most the time as the kids were so tired after a full day at the beach or walking around old town.
The old town was my favourite place, so much to see and do in Albufeira and the people are really friendly.
The apartments are on a main road so it does get very noisy on a night if your room is on the road, lots of horns beeping all night and cars screeching past at all hours but by 2nd night it didn't really bother us but think next time I would definitely try for the pool view room. Staff were great both in reception and in the bar/restaurant. We didn't get to try out the evening entertainment next door in the paladim part of the bar because it started a bit late for our kids (9.30/10pm) which is a shame because the kids kept asking to go to a disco. Overall I would recommend these apartments and if we visit Albufeira again we would definitely stay here again.
