Room poor, breakfast good
nickyportugalon 28/06/2016 18:07Set in the hills above Cerri this Albergo looked inviting from the outside. Unfortunately we had a room high in the eaves, very small and with no airconditioning. The furniture was all very cheap and the room had bare floorboards. Talking to others who also had no airconditioning we all agreed it was unbearably hot. Some rooms do have airconditioning so book one of those! The breakfast was excellent with salami, cheese, croisssants, cakes, much more and even a waffle making machine. This certainly help make up for the fact that we thought our room was very poor value.
OK stay, good location if you have a car
tosbagaon 18/09/2015 17:15We stayed in Albergo Serena hotel for our Cinque Terre visit. It's location is pretty ideal for a budget hotel if you have a car; with a short drive you can arrive the train station for Cinque Terre trains. The hotel is on a mountain with amazing views of olive trees. Our check-in was smooth but it was the only time we can see front desk. We checked them multiple times for our questions and checkout but they were not in the office in their office-hours. You may call them if you have a phone and they answer; unfortunately we didn't have on. They provide free parking and serve a good enough Italian breakfast. Rooms are large enough, has AC but you need to pay $5 per day to use it and $50 deposit to get the remote; we slept windows open, weather were cool on mountains during the night. Linens and towels were clean but not same for bathroom. They provide shampoo but there was no soap. There was not enough power sockets to charge your tablets, camera etc.
There is a nice family restaurant just a few meters ahead of this hotel: They cannot speak English, provides very simple delicious food and best local family atmosphere. We found it by chance and it was the most friendly & fun dinner we had in Italy.
A nice, reasonably, economic hotel, near La Spezia
Fuss Pon 13/06/2015 22:08This is a nice, reasonably, economic hotel, near La Spezia . The area is relatively underdeveloped, which means you need transport to go anywhere. The rooms were clean, comfortable and reasonably ventilated. Breakfast was better than expected with the usual Italian pastries and tarts, accompanied by some cheeses and a waffle maker!
Located up the hill, this place to relax yourself...
Francesco Lon 30/11/2014 08:51Located up the arcola's hill's you can find this beautiful place with cheap prices, very good breakfast, and a quite new restored building. People here is very friendly and kind.
Thanks Hotel Serena...
Ok but not close to anything
SEMkapon 17/10/2014 21:20For the price, the room is a good deal. It is sparsely decorated but clean with slate floors and bathroom. There is a little balcony with a nice hill view. Breakfast was typical with baked goods and yogurt though I was disappointed to see that much of the fruit was rotten. The real problem is that the hotel is very echoey and loud so I didn't sleep at all. Also, it is not very close to anything so even to get dinner, it was a 10 minute drive minimum.
