Poor Service
philippa gon 23/11/2013 01:12Clean enough, but a bit shabby, grumpy staff, disappointing breakfast - I wouldn't stay there again. Easy walk to large shopping centre and very handy supermarket across the road.
Great bar up the called Mombasa.
Relatively near airport and worth the price
Larrysdon 04/10/2012 00:58We arranged to stay here since we were flying out at 11 am. It is about 20/30 miles from Terminal 4 where we dropped off the car and a very easy drive. There are 3 gas stations before the airport to fill up rather than pay the rental car firms for fuel. It is on the Autoroute, a slight walk into the center of town. It was clean, simple but with all the amenities. I think it is your typical business persons hotel. It had parking on site for free and there was additional parking on the one way street behind the hotel. There is a mall near by for shopping if the weather is bad. The the town it self has a few sites. There are plenty of places to eat, including local cafes with great tapas. The WIFI was free, but needs more bandwidth because of all the business people staying. For the 41 Euros it was well worth the price and would consider stay here again if we were flying out in the morning. It was what we expected. Especially with the lousy weather for the last day of our vacation.
Rather poor with little amenities
Russ-McDon 06/11/2006 05:30There do not appear to be many hotels in Guadalajara, however the Alcarrira beckoned as although it was on the N320/A2 junction it was also close enough to walk into town once settled.
We paid a walk in rate of €58 per twin room, and thought it was about right - however once we had paid (up-front), we found the rooms were tired, the bathroom furniture old, and the a/c didn't work.
While we could do do little about the condition of the room, we complained about the a/c, but the non-english speaking receptionist indicated it was turned off, throughout the hotel and not available !!
Opening a window did not help as we were next the autovia junction, and the noise was just too loud.
We had also hoped for parking, but were directed to a space outside the hotel in the road (cul-de-sac). Fortunatly our motorbikes fitted in the gaps, but clearly any more than half a dozen cars would have rendered it full.
It was not a good experience for the money paid, and we would not stay again. Incidentally, it was rated as three-star.
On a positive note, there was free internet in reception, and a 24 hour petrol station opposite for snacks & drinks.
