Pleasant B&B
frizeyon 31/05/2014 15:16We stayed in the "blue room", which was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Isabella, the owner is really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great value for money. The breakfast is "Do it Yourself" and nothing special. The only negative point was that despite there being a bus stop right outside, the buses are very unreliable and just turn up when they feel like it,(we waited over 20 minutes on the first day)and it took us at at least 25-30 minutes to get into the centre (near Piazza Venezia). The last bus back to the B&B leaves at midnight and the late evening buses coming out of the centre were much quicker.
There isn't much in the local area, but there's a little bar, a grocer's and a very good osteria/pizzeria about 5 minutes walk away. The area is quite convenient for visiting the catacombs.
Overall we had a good stay. If you are not in a rush to get anywhere, then this B&B is a good option.

She went above and beyond to help us figure the bus system out--easy and right outside her B&B! We would totally stay there again and loved our stay in the cozy, comfortable B&B!

E Aon 05/12/2012 20:43Alchimia is located in a residential part of town on the edge of the Catacombs. What made this location so great is that a local bus comes by every 10 minutes and goes directly without transfer to the center of town at Venice Square. This bus line was pretty convenient for sightseeing.
Another bonus are a couple of excellent restaurants right around the corner. Pizzaria da Baffo and Gli Artisti were excellent. The neighborhood was really nice to walk around in.
Isabella made sure my stay was excellent. Continental breakfast was provided. She spoke good English which is helpful and had all kinds of great advice about what to do and where to go.
Internet worked great. The bathrooms were nice and the rooms had plenty of light, but had shutters that you could close at night to block out all the light and sounds.
October was a beautiful time of year to be in Rome. I had a great stay because of Isabella and Alchimia. I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Thanks again Isabella!
What a find!
CB Fon 05/12/2012 01:57I was traveling with friends when my trip was unexpectedly prolonged- Isabella amazingly found room for me and bent over backwards to make sure that I had everything I needed. She made sure I was totally comfortable finding the supermarket, taking the bus (although that was overkill as is was super easy and stopped right outside the B&B!), showing me all around the neighborhood and the best places to eat... she was great!
The place is super cute and my room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was great and she even showed me why my coffee was leaking when I made it! I will definitely be going back on my next trip to Roma!

Isabella is an outstanding host. She took time to help me get oriented and make sure I was enjoying my stay. I hope to return!
