What People are saying
VERY VERY NOISEY AT NIGHT
SteveEnglandSurreyon 08/09/2016 23:05A nice hotel spoilt by the noise.
Spent 3 nights here and we never slept because of it.
Every night awake by people who were going home from clubs or bars.
We are not ones to go to bed early.
But we had to listen to people retiring up to 5am every night.
We had room 103 that overlooks some apartments which were occupied by people that seemed to sleep in the day and party till late at night.
Shame hotel is very nice but wouldn't stay again due to the above.
Beautiful Biarritz
tang043on 27/08/2016 13:11Booked this hotel only 4 weeks before we travelled so was really surprised how nice the hotel was. I would have expected it to be booked all season. If all you want is a base in the centre this is for you. It is a maximum of 400m from The Grande Plage. Also a similar distance to the centre of town and all the bars and restaurants. We flew in and had no car as we have been In the area before and didn't want the hassle of parking. Also at €1 on the bus to the railway station and €5.40 return to St Jean de Luz why hire a car. The hotel itself is clean and tidy with friendly staff. Also free towels and sun umbrella for the beach which saves weight in you baggage. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Lovely Biarritz, Ok Hotel, Parking Nightmare!
TheGourmetClubon 09/08/2016 21:42We stayed at the hotel for one night on a recent trip. Unfortunately we seemed to pick a festival weekend which meant that nearly all the hotels were fully booked and overpriced!
We paid €140 Euros plus city tax and without having breakfast for the night. The hotel is located a few roads in from the beach front. The location is pretty good- a bit of a walk to the main sights, bars and restaurants along the front but not a problem.
Parking is an issue- there is street parking all around the hotel which can only be paid for at a max of 4 hours at a time. There is also a break of payment time between 12-2 and then it is free from 7pm until 9am. The traffic wardens are everywhere so make sure you have plenty of change on you before you park up to avoid a fine. The nearest public parking that the manager could point me to was 200m away at the gare du midi. As our car was loaded with goods for a two week stay elsewhere we didn't really feel comfortable leaving the car somewhere so far away so had to arrange our days around trips to and from the meter!
Lobby and entrance way was quite nice and the manager helpful. We checked in and used the tiny lift to get our stuff to our 2nd floor room.
The room was pleasantly decorated but smelt faintly of tobacco. The decor was a little tired in places and the dark carpet looked like it needed a good clean but the bed was clean and comfortable. The room had air con although it never seemed to get particularly cold. Tea and Coffee facilities in the room and a large wardrobe provided good storage. An iron and board were already in the wardrobe. Our room looked across to a building opposite so we had to keep the metal shutter pulled down most of the time.
The bathroom was tiny- no room to move around at all. Toilet is squeezed in between sink and shower doors so you could only open one side of the shower doors to actually get in to it- very tight! Sink too large for the room really- badly designed!
Slightly grubby round the edges- shower tray needed a thorough clean but have seen much worse.
A couple of complimentary toiletries which was a nice touch.
Can't comment on the breakfast as it was €13 each so we headed to the seafront to have breakfast in the morning instead.
No terrible complaints but probably wouldn't choose to stay again.
Pleasant
renandvinceon 22/07/2016 11:25We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to San Sebastián. The room is good, bathroom is unexpectedly big so that was a good surprise. The receptionist is very friendly and smiley which gives a very warm welcome. The location is great as it is very close to everything.
Lovely small hotell
Riitta Son 18/07/2016 03:08This was a four night experience for a middle aged married couple in love ❤️.
We arrived at the hotel before noon and to our surprise the room was already ready for us. What a pleasant welcome as we had woken up before 4am to catch our early morning flight to Biarriz.
The hotel is small, with no restaurant, but in the neighbourhood there are tens of absolutely great places to lunch and dine - we definitely recommend fish and seafood as the city is right on the Atlantic coast. And the beach with its restaurants is only about 500 m from the hotel.
The hotel offers breakfast, for which you have to register before 8pm the previous night, but for us it was not a problem. The breakfast was nice, not just coffee and croissant, but fresh batong, strawberries, fruits, muesli, yoghurt, different kinds of coffee, cheeses, ham, etc...
The room was very small but tidy, priced in a very reasonable way. No minibar and minimal amount of toiletries, but it was not a problem.
The only thing that we did not like was the noise when the bars close by were closing, around 3-4 am. But this is definitely not the hotel's fault. The personnel is present from 8am to 8pm and were very friendly. Upon leaving we got an extra our to check out without charge even though the hotel was fully booked.
I would come here again, definitely!
