A hidden gem of the city
VladimirSkyFon 10/06/2017 11:00Congratulations, you have found the great place to stay at this city!
It's almost impossible to believe that you will live at the city center and country at the same time. Riverside rooms offer an amazing view to the Volga and a local wharf (don't miss a chance to ride on it there and back, it costs only 20+20 rubles).
Behind the hotel is a high slope of Alexandrovskiy park- provide the hotel a fresh air and silence (take a short ride on the top of this hill on a taxi only for 200 rubs, save your time and breathe).
As additional bonus the stuff is very professional and friendly, the chief of the restaurant could give a real pleasure for your food receptors :)
P.S. check some pictures and share your personal opinion
Nice hotel
Ritachkaon 17/05/2017 17:14Nice hotel, clean, large rooms, wonderful breakfast, nice view on Volga river, good location not far from Kremlin. Absolutely wonderful restaurant, nice cousine. Bravo to the chef ! Very helpful stuff. Good prices.
Quality has declined but good value
migrider2016on 30/09/2016 17:01I was last in this hotel seven years ago. The quality seems to have declined a bit. But it is still very good. The location is excellent with a great view of the river. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom acceptable. The breakfast buffet has declined quite a bit in terms of food quality and quantity. That could be because of sanctions. The staff were all quite helpful and friendly to this American.
good position
Romulanixon 24/11/2015 15:50The hotel is located on the bank of Volga river, very close to Kremlin and other attractions in the old part of the city. It is comfortable, the breakfast is OK. The restaurant is also a good choice for lunch or dinner. The people in the reception are very helpful. They also speak good English, which is rare in Nishniy Novgorod. There is a car transportation complimentary from the hotel to city center.
Lets not get carried away!
jontymgmon 28/10/2015 14:21This is a good hotel. Its clean, new, quiet, efficient and well located. The four stars on the wall and the almost 5-star Tripadvisor rating are a bit exagerated. Its very simple, mildly industrial in the room quality, very basic in many respects (food, gym, pool, toiletries, towels) and comes with an old-fashioned luke-warm Russian approach to service. The free internet is excellent, fast and user-friendly.
As i write this review I am in another 4-star hotel in Turkey. In comparison, the Alexandrovsky would get 2 stars!!
I have no hesitation in recommending the Alexandrovsky, but don't set your expectations too high.
