What People are saying

We had so nice holidays!

Līga Oon 29/08/2017 17:02

This hotel is nice. Reception staff is polite and friendly. Food was amazing. I enjoyed every meal. only negative was pool towels. They were not in good condition. Rooms was cleaned every day. Reception staff offered us nice boat trips. Trips were amazing. Sadly that hotel was not near sandy beach but anyway we enjoyed nice sea view. I would like to return to this hotel one more time.

Alright, I suppose

I stayed here for a week with my family, we asked for two rooms next to each other, 117 and 119, which we got (they had doors next to each other inside a covered balcony/terrace/greenhouse thing, which wasn’t ideal but it was an okay place to let towels and swimming costumes dry), however the air-con in 119 didn’t work at first so we got the maintenance man to fix, which he did but it was noisy, but we coped. However in room 117, the air-con seemed to be working, it wasn’t. It was an unbearable heat which made me ill, so much so that I had to stay inside for two days and ate nothing other than a bag of salted lays! Eventually after a lot of time spent in reception, it was fixed and the room was freezing, much to our delights, bearing in mind it was 40°c +, so we’re not complaining! The hotel was alright and clean, but do bear in mind when this says 4 star, Greek 4 star hotels are about the same as English 2 star hotels. Also every time the cleaner came in, she turned off our air-con, which was already temperamental, so we locked the remote in the safe which comes with the room, so I suppose there’s that. Lots of people complained about there being no hot water, well when we went (7/8/17 - 14/8/17) you did not want hot water, you wanted solid water - ice! The food was okay, it repeated itself a few times but there was plenty to offer (even though I didn’t eat much) and drinks were good, I stuck to water most of the time and was weary of the effects of foreign water, but nothing untoward happened to me, I’m still around. As for the pool area, it was nice and clean, on one day the pool seemed a bit grimy from suncream, but it was clean the next day and all the other days, so you could escape your rooms and go to the pool if your room is really bad, sun-beds and umbrellas are plentiful, the sun-beds do collapse if you sit on them a certain way, so be mindful, and while we were there, there were 60mph winds on one of the days, so if you weren’t careful you could be impaled, but its all the fun of Corfu! As for the rest of the island, it was lovely, we went into Corfu town twice, and to Benitses once, I do recommend that if you do go into Corfu, go in either the evening or when it’s cooler as it is busy. As for Benitses, we went for all of 10 minutes, were then asked if we were going to pay for the sun-beds and then left, it’s not worth it. Also, the bus tickets are cheap in the hotel shop, so get them from there instead of anywhere else. Overall I probably wouldn’t come here again, but I think it makes a difference as to what room you get given, but for a short stay, if you’re planning on going into Corfu town, it’ll do.

Having just returned from a 7 days family holiday I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised and relieved after reading some of the reviews on here before going! First yes the hotel is dated, it needs a refurbish but...it's clean and tidy (only mess was from guests leaving their rubbish behind). Our room was adequate and comfortable, the tv was a bit rubbish but we didn't go on holiday to watch tv! Our sea view was lovely looking over at Albania and we watched many cruise ships go by. The air con in the room was superb. Our room was cleaned and tidied daily and we had fresh clean towels daily. So the room was totally acceptable for the price we paid! The lifts again are outdated and temperamental, we was on the 4th floor (top floor) everything, as in the dining room, reception, pool entrance, bar was on the 2nd floor so not too bad to walk down 2 flights of stairs.
The dining room was large and seating not a problem, the food was plentiful, regularly topped up but was repetitive. Plenty of salads and Greek traditional hot food. Chips and pasta every lunch and dinner.
The pool and surrounding area was lovely, plenty of beds at any time you arrived pool side, they could do with some more brollies but there are plenty of shady areas anyway. We loved the pool side and the bar staff were always smiling and helpful. Snacks was not wonderful and you did have to buy ice cream outside of meal times. Saying that at meal times the ice cream was lovely, plentiful and branded ice cream (Carte Dor). Hot and cold drinks were available from 10 -7pm by the pool.
We walked to the sandy beach about a 20min walk and this was lovely with boats and other activities to do.
The shop is cheap and has a good variety of souvenirs/gifts and plenty of snacks.
We found the drinks no different to any other all inclusive European holiday, all local brands so much less alcoholic than branded but acceptable. Evening entertainment for adults was on 5 nights and the Greek dancer were fun and tried to involve the guests, many avoided participating but the dancers tried to involve everyone and did a great job, we joined in along with some others and had a great time!
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only rudeness I witnessed was from guests and particularly their children being allowed to run riot! But there was also many other pleasant guests there who chatted and made small talk!
Regards things to do, My children are teenagers so were happy with the swimming pool and the table tennis and pool table, I can imagine younger children would struggle as I couldn't see much for them to do.
Overall this was a great holiday for the price we paid for it and I would definitely go again! I have done budget holidays in Portugal and Spain and this place is well above them!
