Ok for a one night stay, without air con, if staying here in summer be prepared to be v.hot!!

The breakfast was good and parking easy (+ free)
Staff were friendly and it was useful having a supermarket across the road. Considering how expensive it is to stay in Switzerland this hotel did offer good value for money. I would describe it as a no frills hotel. There was a tram stop outside the hotel to get into the city which was good.

We were here in the summer and the room was so hot, too hot!! We knew that the hotel did not have air con although hoped that we might have been given at least a fan! I did not sleep well as a result which made our stay less enjoyable.

Average - avoid the breakfast!

Stayed for 3 nights. Arrived approx 11am and was able to check in before the standard 2pm/3pm which was great.

Standard, clean room with free water and coffee machine.

Free parking, however we were given loads of information on local transport links which included free tram travel around Basel; there is a tram stop directly outside the hotel which I believe will take you into town in about 15mins.

The room was extremely warm throughout the night even with the window wide open...almost unbearable which was very uncomfortable. Also no fridge which was very disappointing.

Breakfast and coffee downstairs is abysmal. Please avoid. Couldn't face another morning there.

On one occasion the fuse blew in our bathroom. I phoned down to reception and within 10mins someone came to investigate. We were gone for the whole day but upon arrival in the evening the problem had been fixed.

Nice hotel with good prices, friendly staff and good location. However the breakfast severely lets it down as does lack of aircon. Because of that, probably wouldn't stay again.

Loved this place. It was the cheapest hotel I could find in Basel and so naturally I was a little dubious. Very happily surprised.

Room was clean, bed comfy, the staff were great and the breakfast was good. Can't complain about this place.

Not a luxury hotel, but I have stayed in worse places in London that are double the price!!

Location is fantastic. Tram stop right outside that gets you into the centre in about 10 minutes. We walked most of the time and it took about 30 minutes at a leisurely speed.

I am glad we walked because we came across some great things you perhaps wouldn't see if you stayed more central. There is a very old medieval area on route which is just stunning, you must see the old water wheel that is still in action.

Also along the river bank nearer to our hotel is a large green area where the locals take bbqs in the afternoon. We joined them with a takeaway pizza we bought across the street from our hotel and a couple of bottles!! Again you would miss this amazing opportunity if you stay more central.

I will stay here again and recommend anyone who goes to Basel to stay here.

Good hotel for a short stop

The hotel has a small parking lot and is situated close to the city center which can be reached by tram (a free ticket is provided by the hotel). Free wifi works well, good breakfast. Great value for money. No airco, we were roasting in the room (temperature outside was 27°C at the time).

Avoid during hot weather

The Hôtel has no air conditioning, no fans in the rooms and no mini bar or refrigerator to keep drinks cold in the room either. So during hot weather it is extremely uncomfortable and very difficult to sleep. The rooms have large windows for ventilation but no screens so in the evening moths and bugs fly into the room attracted by the lights. Very unpleasant. The breakfast was basic but adequate and he staff are all very professional and accommodating. The rooms have not been updated in many years. The location next to a tram stop is convenient.
