Location Great & Lovely Friendly Pool Are

Cons
Cold water shower every day ( although some days this was quite welcomed )
Small room with no access between mirror to do hair & makeup & end of bed. It was an economy room.
When in ..... do as i.e. Towels on beds by 7 am or no spot for the day. We travelled with granddaughter 5 & the pool is where she wanted to be most days & we were 4 adults. 1st time ever we put our towels out !
First night we ate in restaurant & would like to think it was just a one off night poor meal

Nice room and good location

This was my third hotel stop as part of an 8-island Greek holiday adventure. Located at the bottom end of St George's Beach, it's a good location and not too far to walk from the ferry port even with luggage in tow (though some of the path is along the beach so pretty tough dragging a case).

The hotel has a nice feel about it, and check-in was efficient with friendly staff. I was quite impressed with the room, which was modern and quite spacious with a lovely bathroom including a corner bath! (It takes an age to fill though). The pool is nice and a decent size, however the area around the pool is too small really, with too few sunbeds meaning you have to get up early if you want to reserve a spot.

Breakfast was okay, the usual buffet type affair, it didn't stand out as being especially good or bad. I didn't really eat at the hotel so can't comment on the rest of the food, but the bar prices for drinks were reasonable and service was good.

It was quite windy for the 3 days I stayed, and I'm guessing this is quite usual as the beach in front of the hotel is very popular with windsurfers. There are sun loungers on the beach but you have to pay for them as they belong to a beach bar next to the hotel. However there's nothing further south except sand so plenty of room to throw a towel down.

Naxos town itself is nice and the harbour area a great place to walk in the evening, lots of cafe/bars and restaurants to choose from. One day I got the bus to Plaka beach which is about 20 minutes away and is very nice. That aside I didn't really see much of the island but I think there's plenty more to do.

I would recommend this hotel as a good base to explore the island.

Hotel Alkyoni is in a great location! Right on St George's beach which has heaps of bars and restaurants and only a 10 min walk into old town where there are more bars, restaurants and the quad shop we hired from which was Moto Falcon (also great). The hotel has good air conditioning, great pool area/bar/ restaurant and has cheap laundry service for 10 euro a bag. Only little complaints if I'm being picky was the shower was at times cold, the breakfast was basic and the wifi may have been a bit slow at times.

We had an economic room and it was clean and comfortable, nothing fancy. The refrigerator didn't work but the hotel changed it for us right away. The breakfast was fantastic except for the juice offered to the economic room guests...we ended up paying the extra for the fresh juice. The location of this hotel right on the beach and close to windsurfing spots and rental shops was very appreciated and the walk into the village was not far. The hotel pool is very nice but if you don't go put your towel on a lounge chair by 8am you can forget having one all day. Guests are not supposed to monopolize the pool chairs but do it anyway as there is no policing done by the hotel staff. We are beach people so this wasn't a big deal for us, but be forewarned...The hotel staff is kind and helpful and spoke French and English. The hotel is in the process of renovating rooms and we will go back to Alkyoni Beach Hotel for sure!

Nice hotel with possibility to be even better

Alkyoni beach hotel is beautiful small family owned hotel with beautiful facilities. It has own private pool and its located just few meters from the beach.

We had some problems though:

- we were the only room with cold water in hotel and it lasted about 2 days to fix it.

- my wife and I got some kind of stomach problems (also 6 other rooms). We still can't decide how we pick it. (Water/Flu/Food)

- one day pool wasn't cleaned.

But there are a lot of pluses for Alkyoni:

- personnel is extremely polite and helpful. Even when we had mentioned problems they were trying to help. I'm sure they done their best, always.

-location, location, location

- breakfast was always excellent

- pool bar was nice

- rooms clean and comfort

Room for improvement:
- food menu for lunches and dinners are the same all the time. And that is awkward, especially if you are halfboard. Nevertheless food is decent.

- repair service (cold water) should be more effective.

Final:
Alkyoni needs just "the little" things fixed to become really good.

Without their nice personnel i would rate them surely lower.
