What People are saying

Best hostel I've stayed at to date

Heidi Ron 06/08/2017 04:16

The place seemed brand new and everything was extremely clean. I stayed in a four-person dorm and it was spacious for a hostel and very comfortable, including a small porch where you could step out and enjoy the aspens in the morning. The beds were particularly comfortable--I travel for work and usually stay at a Westin and am spoiled by their famous "heavenly" beds, but I didn't even feel like the beds at this hostel were a step down.

There's a big shared living space with a cozy fireplace where people can gather and chat. The hostel is filled with cool people--I visited in the summer and met lots of folks hiking the CT, a couple people biking cross country, an older lady reinventing herself and planning a move to CO. And every morning the staff prepares a delicious, literally home-cooked breakfast.

Other perks include a hot tub out back with a great view, a Free Ride bus stop right out front, and the little trail from the back porch that will take you right into town. Great location. If you're visiting Breckenridge, there's no reason to stay anywhere else. In fact, I've already booked a trip back here for next month. I sound like a salesperson at this point, but it's all true :)

2 night hostel stay

Pleased with my stay. Pleasant building and location. Breakfast available but not early enough. 4 bed room was clean and quiet with in room bathroom. As often the case, roomies were friendly and considerate. Locking lockers in room. Address misleading for locating on google maps. Pleasant staff.

By far the BEST

Wow! I did my research before booking at the Bivvi so I knew that this hostel was a cut above the rest, and I must say it did not disappoint. This felt more like a B&B than a hostel, and I cannot wait to return. The hot breakfast was filling, the lounge area is comfortable and inviting, and the balcony has a fire pit and hot tub that are both perfect for winding down and congregating during those chilly Breckenridge evenings. The location is great, just a short walk (~10 mins) from shops and restaurants. What I loved most was the friendly atmosphere that made my solo trip feel like a vacation with friends. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are included in the bathrooms. They thought of everything at the Bivvi and I highly recommend it for the price.

Not a bad stop, but not tremendous either

trumpetguruon 05/07/2017 01:26

The Bivvi...warm, welcoming, a nice little stop on our road through Colorado. When you hear "Hostel" you think about lowlifes who are swapping weed while they swipe your stuff. That is not the case here.

The staff are knowledgeable and make a pretty good breakfast. There is a shared fridge (label your food), hot tub, and great view from their patio. Wildlife is abound with chipmunks and a fox that lives nearby and occasionally runs across the parking lot.

The pot smoke does drift quite a bit so if you're opposed to it, that makes your time on your own balcony a bit uncomfortable. We stayed in one of their suites that was nearby and that stifled our time outdoors.

The wifi leaves something to be desired. In the common room it's okay, but when you get back to your room, my devices moved slower than Congress.

Also, this suite had seven windows (including the glass on the door) and zero black-out curtains. The 630am sun had us roused whether we liked it or not.

All in all, not a bad stop, but I'll think twice before coming back.

Incredible solo trip

The Bivvi experience is incredible and something every solo/budget traveler should consider. This place is affordable, yet world-class. Full of hard-core skiers and great people. Lodge area is a nice place to hang out after a day of skiing.
