Great Resort but noise problems from beach resort ruin it
Joseph2737on 21/08/2017 12:44Stayed with friends in PV for two weeks in April. One week here and one week at a hotel next door on the beach. Knew this place from before when it was Meza del Mar and the renovation is amazing but not finished yet. Beautiful lobby, spacious, well designed rooms and beautiful furnishings. However, it is the obnoxious music volume that ruins the place. We heard from some local friends that Mexico has a noise law -- 80 decibels is the maximum. Almar's beach club - Mantamar - plays its music volume well above this every afternoon until sunset. It is just horrid how loud it is in your room and even the door closed, you can still hear the thumping. The balcony was unusable. How can they justify this when they claim it is a 5-star resort. We have stayed in many 5-star resorts and never had noise problems like this. It just ruins the place and we will not be back. How sad -- everything else is perfect. Turn the volume down to a normal level -- and we would be back. Other guests mentioned this as a problem too and it appears in the reviews (which we should have read prior to booking) so maybe management just doesn't care despite their responses where they say they listen to their guests feedback. We were interested in purchasing a time share but the music volume was a deal breaker. SAD!

hugo Gon 15/08/2017 03:22Nice and beautiful location, clean, great service. Nice, clean and great food at a clean restaurant by the beach. Very close to old town, where you can walk by the shops. and see why Puerto Vallarta its so loved.
Convenient, great views from room
MMC Eon 08/08/2017 06:00This is our 2nd time staying at the property and the staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The lobby can be a tad warm especially when it is humid outside. The room was nicely appointed, however, it had a musty odor. It is on a hillside and there are stairs to walk down to the mantamar.
Great location, clean and great staff
Dean Ton 05/08/2017 16:59Pay the extra and get the ocean view, they are all great rooms, it just nice to look straight out at the ocean and bay.
All the staff is wonderful, Jarissa and Gustavo we very helpful and welcoming during our visit. The hotel is new and clean and a great location, this was our 2nd time staying here.
Total relaxation

We switched rooms after the first night because we wanted more space and a larger bed so Larissa accommodated the perfect room. Larissa proved to master the art of customer service so if you need anything, she can definitely deliver.
The atmosphere of the staff and environment is comforting and accepting. The resort offers great complimentary breakfasts.
The resort is at the perfect location too. It is secluded but still close to the town. Everything is at walking distance. Just be cautious about the aggressive drug sellers. But they are usually polite when you say "no gracias." Anyways, great stay! Lovely people! Great food! Tons of culture!
