Good! What we expected
Valaszkaion 23/05/2017 00:01Easy and simple checkin, very friendly staff. We got a large room at the ground floor with very comfortable beds. The room was very clean and quiet as well.
Breakfast included.
Staff very helpful when helping us with Neuswanstein Castle.
Nice option near Neuschwanstein
NinjaNekoon 06/03/2017 16:07We were looking for a one-night stay near Neuschwanstein on our way back home from a skiing trip in Tyrol, and picked the reasonably priced Alpchalet Schwanstein.
it's on one of the main roads to and from Füssen (literally on the Romantische Strasse), but there wasn't much traffic noise (at least not in January).
There's plenty of parking in front of the hotel. Check-in was done by a friendly lady and went pretty quick. Our room was on the first floor (or half floor?). There's no lift so keep in mind you (or your helpful boyfriend) will be dragging your luggage up the stairs. Room itself wasn't very big but was clean and had everything we needed, including a minifridge, coffee maker and flatscreen tv. Bathroom was pretty small but again had everything: shower, sink with extra vanity mirror, toilet and clean towels.
Although there is a restaurant in the hotel, we had a craving for Chinese food. We asked the lady at reception if she could point us to a good restaurant and she adviced us to go to Füssen, which is also a pretty cute town to walk around in. By the time we got back to the hotel it had gotten quite cold outside and I was shivering. I'm happy to report the heating system in our room worked great (and fast!).
We heard some noise in the hallway that evening from other guests, but during the night it was very quiet. And very dark thanks to the blinds. Bed was comfortable. In the morning I caught the last glimpse of the sunrise (did I mention we had a private balcony with mountain view?) and then it was off to breakfast. The man working in the breakfast room seemed rather shy, but he was constantly working and topping up things. Spread was very nice with little prepared side dishes and fresh fruit. Check out was done by the same person, and after the paperwork and payment we were off to catch the first tour of Neuschwanstein.
I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good basic hotel in that area.
Cute Little Hotel near The Castle
D_Coop_NCon 27/10/2016 16:58We had a great experience here on our first night in Germany. It is a small hotel with no elevator so pack light for the night. The restaurant next door was popular with the locals and we had a great meal. The breakfast room is small and serves a normal German breakfast. There is no air conditioning, but it really wasn't needed. The view from our second floor room was great, of the little village and mountains. Staff was friendly and helpful. We booked ourselves on line and everything was handled perfectly.
Don't, just don't.
Sandraaimolenon 02/10/2016 14:13Not very good. They can't handle a full hotel. Restaurant was not very good. Breakfast was disappointing because they did not made enough food for everyone. Coffee machine did not work properly. We could not check out because the woman had to do the breakfast too.
The room had a lot of broken features. On paper they may have 4 stars, but it does not have a 4 star feel.
They were very kind, but they kept making mistakes. They also made a mistake with the payment, they charged us for twice the amount, the travel agent we booked the room at promised to fix it.
So, story short, maybe go to another hotel if possible.
So helpful
Oxageon 14/08/2016 21:01Wonderfully helpful staff and owners. I honestly can't recommend them enough. They totally went above and beyond. Also a very useful location, great access to the stunning forrest and Neuschwanstein. Great stuff.
