What People are saying

Wedding Party

Lindsay Lon 17/08/2017 07:30

Alpenhof hosted a wonderful place to stay for all 32 of my wedding guests. Ann was amazing and worked with us to create a wonderful welcome dinner (in lieu of a rehearsal dinner) complete with BBQ food and S'mores!

Sylvio, the bartender/waiter/does-it-all-person was ridiculously wonderful. He was incredibly patient with my guests, and very helpful. My now husband and I have had the pleasure of being there when he was working before. He's a huge asset to Alpenhof and I hope they know it! :)

Billy helped us even plan our wedding when he was still working there, which goes to show how much this hotel cares about their guests. They didn't need to go above and beyond for me, and yet they did.

Wonderful little hotel in the Tetons-- excellent views, wonderful staff, delicious food, tasty beer, and great pups!!

Thank you, Alpenhof!

Nice Stay

It's an old hotel but our room was comfortable, clean and the bathroom facility small but more than adequate. We didn't spend much time in the room due to planned activities. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We ate breakfast in the dining room and it was good and offered a decent selection.
It served our purpose. We opted for a room with a king sized bed and it was a little more expensive but worth it. There was plenty of storage for our luggage and clothing. No safe or small refrigerator in the room but it wasn't necessary for this particular trip.

Shabby, overpriced

The building itself is old, warped and rotted. Old dirty carpet was buckled up everywhere over the loud uneven floors. The rude staff were aloof. No linens by 2pm, when I asked for them front desk brought me hand towels, I asked about washcloth and she practically threw the hand towels at me and said "good enough for now". The food is greasy and overpriced, when you finally get service.

Tyrannical ownership

Can't speak for the room or the place because we didn't actually make it. We informed the lodge we wouldn't be able to use the room and they took our money anyway. The woman seamed to really enjoying saying we would be charged the full $507.32 because it was the day of our reservation. She, in fact, informed me they would have taken our money even if we had given them more than a full weeks notice because get this, "we are not a hotel but a resort and have a hard time filling our rooms." Here is a tip, maybe if you don't have such crappy customer service you won't have such a hard time filling your rooms during peak season! Enjoy the $507, you will never get another dollar of mine.

Skeleton crew for the summer?

We stayed two nights last week while visiting Grand Teton NP.
The reception person was very helpful and agreed to put my "blue ice" in the restaurant's freezer as there is no fridge in the room.
To get to the elevator you have to carry your luggage some stairs to the second level. The room was very small and the furniture seemed pretty old.
The breakfast: Sorry to say, but it was disappointing. The bread that you slice yourself and seems so inviting was stale. The eggs were runny. There were a couple of types of sliced cheese. The coffee was OK. The best thing were the various baked goods. But when we got there on the second day, at about 7:45, there was very little left.
When you check-in they give you a coupon for 20% off at the restaurant. We arrived a few minutes after 8. There was one person manning the bar AND the restaurant. It took her some time to turn her attention to us. Since the menu was posted in the elevator, I asked if they serve everything on it. She answered: "I don't know. Here is the menu", and she literally thrust the menu at us, and then went back to her bar business. We waited around for a few more minutes, but nobody paid any attention to us, so we left.
There is not much in terms of food offerings in Teton Village. Perhaps it is better during the ski season.
The WiFi is marginal.
In general, I would not recommend Teton Village as a base to visit Grand Teton NP. Although it looks close on the map, the Moose-Wilson road was closed during our stay. So we had to travel through Jackson with the horrible traffic jams there.
