Excellent Value in Berchtesgaden
Richard Jon 03/08/2017 19:20Lovely hotel with great rooms and views. Staff was attentive and helpful. On site parking in their own lot. Breakfast was excellent. Away from downtown Berchtesgaden, so away from the tourist bustle. One caution... they advertise a 20 minute walk to downtown... realize that is over a ridgelin so you have some uphill trek in both directions.
The best breakfast in Germany
Baruš Mon 30/07/2017 21:20Easy to find, in a very calm, hidden streets of the Berchtesgaden, with a lovely view of surrounding mountains. Spacey parking, no reservation needed, small reception, lovely dining room, no restaurant (I am used to have B'n'B everywhere and eat outside while travelling, so fine by me). Rooms were clean and even the additional bed was comfy. A small kitchen corner could come in handy if I planned to stay for long. Bathrooms were luxurious and spacey. Hotel pool is rather small but nicely refreshing and opens very early.
The main plus was the breakfast. Apart from the traditional continental stuff, a large scale of types of cheese, ham, eggs, filled eggs, rolls, pastry, fruits, vegetables and beverages was served in the self-service buffet alongside automatic, but grinded coffee with hot milk option. One of the best breakfasts I have ever experienced in a hotel under 5*. Many 4* could go green of envy for having such a breakfast as Weiherbach does, plus with such kind and helpful staff as they do.
If it could count for a minus, the mobile service is very weak in this place and unfortunatelly, so is, eventhough it's free, the hotel wi-fi. Other tiny minus is the fact the reception closes at 6 pm, which is kinda tight schedule for road-trippers like us considering the summer traffic, but it just requires more careful planning than we might be used to.
Overall I can fully recommend this place for your stay.

Best hotel I have stayed in in Germany
coachIrelandon 20/07/2017 11:48From the moment we arrived we were made welcome. Parking in its own car park. Beautiful room with balcony offering stunning views and a great indoor pool and gardens. The family keep the place spotless and offer an honesty bar well stocked.
I see some people have mentioned the strictness. There is respectful order, which should be adopted elsewhere and the world would be a better place.
About a 30 min walk into town either by the road around the hill, or the more testing up and over, which offers better views.
Breakfast was good and varied with a surprise pastry each day. Regularly topped up, so it was always fresh
Will be back again and take an apartment next time.
Wish I had stayed longer....
Peter Won 25/05/2017 17:01This hotel is great value for money. The very helpful staff let me check in early and was personally shown to my clean, spacious room with a balcony and nice views. If arriving by bus or train, get a taxi to hotel and have the correct address or picture of the hotel. Once you have your bearings it's a nice walk to town....but very steep walk back. The hotel has a lift, but if travelling with a disabled person a hire car or taxi is a must. This hotel was excellent value for money and large selection at breakfast. Be aware shops close at 1pm on a Saturday and this hotel doesn't really cater for late check ins. Highly recommended...would stay again.
Beautiful Hotel
Neil Bon 15/04/2017 17:04I booked accommodation with this hotel through an agency and there was a problem. I received an email from the Hotel advising that regardless of the problem they would hold the booking for me without security. When I arrived I received a very warm and courteous greeting and booked into my room with great efficiency. The room was fantastic. Large, very well furnished, large bed, quality quilt and sheets, tv, fridge, very nice en suite, a large balcony with seating overlooking the adjoining farms. The hotel was quality from top to bottom. There was a wellness centre and fitness room which I avoided. Lounge areas, outdoor terrace, ample parking....the list goes on Breakfast was great with all good quality ingredients. Wi fi was unreliable but I am sure the staff would have that sorted quickly. You will note other reviews referred the distance from the town centre and restaurants and I agree that this is a fair walk to town, but, if you have your own transport it is of no consequence and more of a bonus as the hotel is very quiet. I had my own transport and simply went into a supermarket and secured some beer, wine and food and had a picnic on the balcony. This is a family run hotel and you could not ask for lovelier hosts. I loved this hotel and certainly recommend it to anyone visiting Berchtesgarden.
