Great friendly hotel
buffalo478on 01/08/2017 21:34Just back from a great week walking in Mayrhofen. The hotel was superb, the room was one of the biggest we have ever stayed in. The food was a highlight from the breakfast buffet to the four course evening meal. Only one problem was we were charged €2 for tap water when we were paying €31 for a bottle of wine, surely it should be free when later in the holiday we found out that there are no water rates for the properties in the village.
Wonderful hotel
Brian Hon 12/07/2017 17:07Highly recommended. We really enjoyed our week at the Kramerwirt. A traditional Tyrolean hotel. Staff are so helpful and the food is excellent with a good choice. All food is organic and local. Centrally located half way between the train and the cable cars. Church bells were not disturbing and were really nice to hear. Only small disappointment was the balcony view from our room 308 which just looked on to the next door hotel. We would love to go back.
Wonderful Hotel, Fantastic Staff
Alison Ron 09/07/2017 13:13Just returned from a fantastic relaxing 2 week stay at the Kramerwirt. The Family Kroll and their staff looked after us so well.
We were upgraded to room 112, which was very spacious and even had a seating area. We had a fab view of the mountains from our terrace. I know people have mentioned the bells, but they appear to be quieter, maybe due to the location of our room, but I wouldn't have minded them anyway.
The wifi was good, but if your device locks, you have to reconnect. Didnt use the TV as we watched Netflix (just log into your account as usual, the movies etc were all defaulted to English) later in the evenings on the IPad instead.
Was quite hot in our room at night so the hire of a fan would have been nice to help us sleep. I tried to leave our terrace door open but kept waking up due to nerves (we had been watching Hannibal on Netflix so I was a bit scared).
The food, even for me as a veggie, was so varied and tasty. We did eat out a few times, but that's just what we do, we do like to visit some local restaurants for dinner, so we used the buffet nights to do this and help the local economy. I also missed a couple of breakfasts as I preferred a little lie in, but the hubby went for his though, as there was loads of choice and you also pick your evening meal at the same time.
The hotel is very central. Walk down the street past the Neue Post and turn left, walk a bit further and you are at the bus/train station. Also just a short walk to the Ahorn cable cars and the Penken cable car. Hire a bike from the Hotel Obermair down the road and hit the tracks. We cycled along the river and came across some wonderful sights and cafes.
This is a very well run, traditional style hotel and is absolutely beautiful inside and out and you will love it.
First rate hotel
KinderCambridgeshireon 29/06/2017 21:37I visit this excellent family owned hotel regularly. It has stood at the heart of the delightful Tirolean village of Mayrhofen for centuries, and has been run by generations of the Kroll family. Friendliness and commitment to high standards are demonstrated by by all members of staff.
I particularly value the commitment of kitchen and restaurant staff to meeting the dietary needs of guests. Information and advice are readily available from experienced team members. This year I found some new additions to the menu allowed me to eat gluten free dishes that I had not encountered in other restaurants e.g. Kaiserschmarrn, and other tasty desserts - really inclusive!
Food miles are reduced by using dairy products from the family farm less than two miles from the hotel. These include farm produced butter and yoghurts. I enjoyed venison from the surrounding forests.
My room was, as usual, comfortable, really clean and well decorated.
In addition, I find that local knowledge about the mountains is freely available from people who love them. Members of the reception team are friendly and helful.
Excellent hotel - wonderful stay
Crowley99on 12/06/2017 16:25Family run hotel where it is hard to find even the slightest thing wrong. Right from arrival through to leaving, the service received from all the staff was first class. The room was spotless with a wonderful walk in shower. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a fridge, safe and plenty of storage space.
Yes, there are the church bells (not at night) but these are not a big problem. At 7am they do ring for a longer time than normal but you do get used to them and if you close the window you can hardly hear them at all ( I was right next to the church - room 102, I am a light sleeper and they did not affect me).
The food was wonderful. Good breakfasts and dinners to die for. I was on half board and had a choice of 3 meals each night. 4 course menu plus salad.
The staff were very friendly, as was the owners who were very welcoming throughout.
Wonderful hotel - very hard to beat.
