Bavarian holiday
DavidGWhitingon 14/08/2017 22:44We spent a week here in June as the second centre of a twin centre holiday with Thomson . When we arrived there was no one around to welcome us. We had a pleasant room overlooking the Main Street. The bathroom was refurbished but it was tiny.
Breakfasts were good but the hot option was limited. Evening meals were reasonable but the soups were very salty for the first few days but this improved. We were disappointed that the hut evening was cancelled and the packed lunch provided as a replacement, could not be compared to an evening meal. The staff were friendly and helpful and Marcus the owner teased us about our lovely Welsh accent.
Ruhpolding is a small village with plenty of shops etc but evening entertainment was lacking. We made good use of the summer card with free buses, trains, cable cars, entry to swimming pools etc.Walking was easy but there was not much variety.
Excellent in every way

The standard of service (in every aspect) was first class amd I am hopeful that we may be able to return at a date as yet unknown.
From the moment of our arrival till our departure, the staff could not have been more helpful.
I recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates delicious food, immaculate presentation, a high standard of hygiene, efficiency and helpfulness.
Wonderful hotel
Thornton_Tigeron 01/08/2017 19:38We had two weeks in Ruhpolding staying in this lovely hotel. I read a lot of the reviews before we went and they are pretty accurate in my opinion.
The hotel is well located in the centre of Ruhpolding, not that it's a big place !! It's only a small hotel but its family run and maybe this is what gives it such a lovely atmosphere.
Our rooms were perhaps a little on the small size but they were big enough, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We don't tend to spend much time in the rooms when we're away anyway so it wasn't an issue other than putting stuff away.
The staff are all lovely and speak terrific English and always made us feel so very welcome. The service really is first class and it genuinely made us feel very much at home.
I thought that the food was excellent. It's a buffet breakfast with the usual continental fare plus cereals and eggs etc. We really enjoyed it. Dinner was also excellent, genuine Bavarian food really beautifully presented and very tasty. We were never disappointed. Worth pointing out that the restaurant doesn't open on a Tuesday though.
In summary a really wonderful hotel and one I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone visiting this part of Bavaria.
Quality and Relaxation
Will Hon 01/07/2017 10:13The hotel is superb, set in the centre of the small, quiet, typically Bavarian town of Ruhpolding, on the edge of the Bavarian Alps.
Anja and Marcus and all the staff ensure that a stay at this excellent hotel is nothing but a pleasure. Our room was quiet and spacious, and scrupulously clean, with views south over the garden to the Alps. Although there is no air conditioning, we just kept the windows open and the room was comfortably cool even during a heatwave .
Food and service cannot be faulted, and this is all provided with a smile and Marcus's well-known dry sense of humour.
The team at the hotel make this a wonderful base for a holiday and we would thank them all.
The Ruhpolding focusses on German and English speaking visitors, although not exclusively. The town and surrounding area are easy to navigate for walking, cycling and trips further afield. Free bus, train, cable car and access to other facilities is provided, but most places do not take credit/debit cards, so cash is essential.
We would definitely recommend the hotel for those who want a relaxing holiday in the mountains.

W2GOOOOOOOOon 26/06/2017 10:45Arrived at the hotel to a quiet reception and booked into our room, our first impression was of great satisfaction, the size of the room was plenty and very clean. The Restaurant & Menu were of a very high standard and the service was exceptional. We were given very good recommendations on the wine menu and they really do the best hot chocolate. Marcus had a unique sense of humour which was very much to our liking. The hotel itself is set in a quaint Bavarian setting. My wife and I would definitely recommend this hotel and destination.
